The staff at this school is by far better than that at regular schools. Some of the students that attend here have had issues at other schools due to their attitude, behavior or academic. Regular high schools do not take the time to work with them in a positive way, they just kick them to the curb or to a school like Mountain Park. My child had an issue at MHS and chose to do the independent study program at Mountain Park and was in all AP/Honors classes, graduated early, received a scholarship and was accepted into 6 universities. My 3rd child will now attend and I am confident she will do just as well. The staff is incredibly in tune with the needs of each child and makes an effort to know them as individuals and not a number to bring up their attendance. The counselors are great.
The teachers and staff are very helpful and will do their best to see that you and your needs are taken care of. I meet with a teacher once a week to get assignments to complete at home and then return the next week to turn in work and pick up new work. This is a great school for independant study.
