This used to ba a great school, the staff was well trained, they cared about the students and the atmosphere was friendly. The children had a lot of school spirit. There were some discipline problems, but nothing to bad. In the last 3 years the school has steadily gone downhill. The staff seem to be walking around afraid of doing anything to upset the principal, who is odd to say the least. Lately the staff that has been there for years seem to be leaving for unknown reasons. The students talk of drinking on the job, sheriffs being called, hiting of children, and all types of crazy things. I am glad my children are no longer there.

I have 2 kids in MES and couldn't be happier with the the way the school is run by Principal Gretta Brown. It is unfortunate that some of the parents don't understand the need and the benefit of some of the more recently implemented rules, but as a parent I completely support the approach Mrs. Brown has taken toward the leadership of the school. I also credit the teachers and staff for genuinely caring about the success and well being of the students and the apperance and atmosphere of the campus. Excellent job, keep up the good work.

This year Montague has a new principal Gretta Brown and she is wonderful. My kids are no longered bullied and they are rewarded for their good behavior, and the kids with bad behavoir is finally being dealt with. I'm so glad we didn't switch schools!

Beware would not recommend. Administration does not listen to you. Teachers are okay I wont complain about that.

My son attends school here and with the small class sizes receives a lot of personal attention. Their math, computer and reading programs are phenomenal and above and beyond the other local schools. The staff is friendly and willing to listen to the parents and this school really strives to better itself on a daily basis. They are even offering van/bus transportation now for children outside of the school district. They have some issues with bullying (but what school doesn't) however, when brought up by some of the parents the staff took immediate action not only to help the bullied children but even putting together an anti bullying school meeting. I went to school here as well and it has improved tenfold since. I would recommend this school to anyone.

Our school values each and every student. All students are encouraged to excel in academics and character. We constantly receive compliments from visitors about the quality of our students, staff, and campus. We encourage the public to visit our school to appreciate the atmosphere created here. --Mrs. McKay

I love my school! I think our staff is caring, and concerned about the safety of every student. Our middle school is excellent and I wouldn't want to work anywhere else. Mrs. Graces

There is no teacher/parent communication, no progress reports, no staff/parent communication. Some of the teachers seem nice, but I would not really know. Another teacher is cold, unavailable to student or parent. Check this one carefully before enrollment, and research all options.

My children received a very good education at this school. I only have good things to say about the teachers, staff and curriculum.
