As an alum of this school, all I can say is that this school really helps prepare you for challenging intellectual rigor later on in life. My teachers had a lot to do with this, and although they are no longer there (it has been a while since I attended) I am confident it is just as rigorous as when I was there. I attended other public schools before and after Brightwood and never did I feel as challenged as I did here. And that challenge only served to fuel my desire to thrive. I feel as though I received a private school education (better than most private schools I've seen) at a public school price.

I'm going to take my chance to go here as a female 8th grader. This school seems really nice and such and I cannot go back to my old school. The test scores here looks outstanding.

outside lunch cafeteria areas are super dirty with spiderweb, heavy dust , and lots of leaves between benches and tables. They don't allow kids eat inside the caferteria if they don't buy lunch from school. This school should concern more cleaning.

The teachers there are caring and always strive for new ways of teaching the kids. Like any other schools, they need help financially to improve class rooms' equipment and furniture. For many years, they have maintain a score of 9 even though the city is not as well off like South Pasadena, San Marino, Arcadia, ect.

I love this school. My daughter has been at this school since Kindergarten and she is now beginning the third grade. The teachers play a big role in the children's lives and give them personal attention. The parents at this school are very involoved with the school and help with volunteering ALL the time. This school has the highest academic ratings on the Academic Performance Index (API) Report.

New principals (Mrs. Tambara) is awesome. She has taken back the school from the few parents who where buddy buddy with the old principal. The school has made students and cirriculum its priority. The school has tons of activities for everyone and everyone is always invited, but just like any organization you always have bad seeds who want to destroy all the good and this is what we saw at Brightwood. See for yourself Brightwood is an excellent school and very strong.
