This is my son's first year and so far the school has been great. The music program is great with Mrs. Koch and Mr. Brown. Winter Recital was incredible. The teachers are very responsive and parent co-operation is awesome! The boys and girls club is situated near the office and it's free.
This is my sons final year at CMS he started in the 6th grade and we both love the school and all that it offers. Teachers at CMS are some of the best around wish we could take them with us to the high school! The principal however is NOT very approachable in my opinon and is not as involved as he could or should be for that matter but he is 'threre'? so I guess thats a plus. but dont let that take away from the fact that CMS is a wonderful school and we will miss it next year.
this is the best school I have greatly improved my grade to straight A's theprincipal counselors teachers are WONDERFUL they have great strategies of ways to each and make laerning the standards and beyond easier thiers alot of parent participation in the school thiers many options like band orchestra chorus and art the school is strict in a good way they have rules about electronics sexual harrasment weapons glass permanet markers violence detention respect disipline
I went to that school a few years ago, and I thouroughly enjoyed it. the only problem is the community. Everyone that lives in this town (Moorpark) is so obssesed with school and 'The American Dream' that they often forget about the real world, and tell their children that the whoel world is like this. The parents are usually not too smart, and the cops do nothing but....annoy. This town is literally perfect if like fake things, and the teachers here are WONDERFUL. Although this is an amazing school, the parents need to back off the kids, and teach them that school is NOT the most important thing. Because college isn't for everyone. All you need is brains and courtesy towards others. Once again, the school is amazing, the teachers are awesome, but the parents need to back the 'heck' off. thanks for listening :P
This is my sons first year at CMS and he really enjoys being there. The teachers are great. He is especially fond of his math teacher. I'm very glad that they keep an eye out for the trouble makers in the yard.
Its an ok school but needs improvment. It's teachers are great and kind, especialy mrs. Davenport. Where the is isues is the food and discipline. The only healthy things they have, if you can call them that, are the horrid salads and pretzals. Discipline is an issue to, I know because I'm a student.
Chaparral Middle School has a Principal who is easily approachable. The teachers at CMS are very good. At Chaparral they have an ecellent Choir teacher and Band Director. Also, there is a science teacher is known and loved by all. I work for a different school district and I am here to tell you that those three individuals are superb in their ability to reach childrens minds. They earn their students respect by who they are as teachers. My daughter and son have benefited from their wisdom. These classes also helped both my chidren excell in math for music and math go hand in hand. The teachers of whom I am speaking are Mrs. Koch-Choir and Mrs. Judd-Band, and Mr. wallace-Science. All the teachers there have molded my children in a positive way and I am truly happy that they were able to go to CMS.
This is one of the best schools in Ventura County. The faculty and staff are mostly enthusiastic, knowledgeable and supportive. The principal is a bit afraid of parent opinion, but he's otherwise intelligent and cares about the school. It's a National Blue Ribbon School. There are lots of after school activities: volleyball, track and basketball. The ASB is really active and puts on lots of lunchtime events. It's really a great school.
