Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Changes are taking place here in many positive ways. Enrollment is at capacity; ny Ely diverse cross-culture if students and a new Principal who is a KDA native teacher stepping up to the plate to continue a positive legacy and steer the school into the new mandated nationwide Common Core Curriculum. New staff have been added and everyone us working at their best to collaborate and educate every child.

I love F.T Korematsu school for its people: faculty, staff, students and families. Nobody is rich except in spirit, hopes and dreams.

The First grade teacher Ms. Atkins, is wonderful and patient. She really tries to expose children to all sorts of things. Her class is very structred and I saw my son confidence grow;however, the office staff at times seem uninterested and unorganized. The secretary barely speaks English and communication sometimes is challenging. The prinicpal talks down to children and parents sometimes.

About this school

Our young scholars engage in real inquiry in science and math while also developing a love of literature and reading. Writing across the curriculum is a key element of our work. Our intervention programs are focused for each individual student's needs and are delivered through small group and individual instruction, as well as through computer-based guidance. A focused culture of caring and engagement is uniformly supported across all learning environments. We offer before- and afterschool intervention programs, adult ESL classes, and parenting classes for new and expecting parents. KDA is the ideal school for families looking for a caring, supportive, and highly structured environment for their children, where every student is a true scholar. At KDA, we stand up for what is right!
