The educational program at The Whitworth School is light years ahead of the public school system. There are students that attend the Whitworth School that are 2 and 3 grade levels above the norm for their age groups. My daughter has gone to The Whitworth School since she started school and I have never had a problem with her. She is a responsible person with a great ability to reason. I attribute a lot of that to her education and the environment at her school. I eventually brought my oldest son here after he was experiencing ongoing bullying at his public school. I brought it to the public schools attention several times but because the teacher to student ratio was so grossly off they were pretty much unable to stay on top of the situation and the bullying continued. The environment at the Whitworth School is safe, sane, and ethical and the children there are thriving and happy. My children have asked me on several occasions to hurry in the mornings so they are not late for school and do not want to leave at the end of the day.

It's a shame that the only test scores gathered are from these limited sources offered on this site. The Whitworth School not only has advanced curriculum that students do well with due to the study methods taught, but students cannot pass a test with an A,. B, C and on down. They study with such advanced comprehension skills and such strong basics, that school standards require and actually enable students to pass only by high scores before moving on in any subject. Individual attention if needed is fabulous. Testing consults the student's understanding and concepts of how knowledge can be relative or applicable to other thing being learned and to activities in life from day- to-day skills to advanced fields of expertise. Allowing and encouraging student observation of knowledge at work or knowledge 'not workable' is a route to leadership and out of the robotic destiny of the masses. Memorization with limited understanding is not practiced in this school without ensuring this conceptual understanding is present. Students are bright, confident and love learning or they are helped until they are. Great school. TS - Tutor

The Whitworth School engages students' willingness. They thrive because they WANT to learn. Through the use of teaching and study methods that actually work, the students actively participate in their own educations and are able to APPLY what they learn in real life. I highly recommend this school to parents who want their child to love learning and to have a great education.

The Whitworth School is one of the most advanced curriculum I have seen that really works and develops your child into a productive, self-reliant, and happy individual. My child has advanced tremendously after being "overlooked" in the public school system. My child feels that he has a better grasp on life and is much happier while reaching new goals through the school programs. His confidence level and ability to relate to the academic subjects has been thrilling for our entire family to see. We are pleased with the level of attention the teachers have and the principal leadership is beyond words. We would highly recommend this school to anyone seeking a better level of education at any age for students K - 8. The children THRIVE here.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.

What makes a great teacher? Study after study shows the single most important factor determining the quality of the education a child receives is the quality of his teacher. Here are some characteristics to look for »
