The best school in this area. We were fortunate enough to be able to transfer here since the other schools didn't have high test scores for the NCLB act. Everyone here is nice and supportive. They always answer questions and care about the students. We also don't have to worry about spanish speaking students taking time away from kids who actually speak English. All the other schools cater to the spanish speaking kids and it's wrong. I wish all schools were like Hollywood Beach.

Not supportive? I called the school district superintendent and he told me the same thing...he said that there is no hope and the school gets no funding. I emailed the Govenor and he said that only the CA dept of Education can change the school and i also called the onsite child care at Pierpont and he told me that he asked to go into Hollywood beach but they will not work with him without parents getting involved and I was the only parent that would make the change. I did not ask for free childcare, I asked they offer childcare so I can pay. I am not low income and my child was a GATE student all A's and his teacher told me that she felt the school didnt even offer anything for the child. So perhaps someone is not realizing what a good school should be and should offer.

I'm looking for a school with outstanding teachers, a warm supportive principal, and excerllence in academics and I've found it at Hollywood Beach School. The lady who complained is looking for free daycare after school for her kid. Thank you Mrs. Kendall-Wood, and Mrs. Hopkins and all the other great teachers at Beach. By the way, the kids are pretty darned smart and good too. We need the great, supportive parents we have. This lady is clearly not one of us.

My son went to Beach for 5th and 6th grade and is now in the 8th at a middle school in Ventura. Beach is a good sanctuary from the terrible Hueneme and Oxnard social biasis, but kids are not prepared with adequate skills once they leave. Kids are over-nurtured and not able to self direct and have self discipline to navigate the larger middle school once they leave. Study skills, organization and accountability for academic performance should be much stronger.

Hollywood Beach is the best elementary school in Oxnard. I have 1 who went to Beach since 2nd grade-he is now in High School and I have one currently there in second. It is small but the teachers and admin are the best.

My son is in 1st grade. This is his 2nd year at Beach School. I could not be happier with his progress academically as well as socially. I have found his Teachers so far to be both academically challenging and nurturing at the same time. A fine balance in my opinion. Thank goodness for Beach School and it's Faculty and Administrative Staff. My son's education is of vital importance and he is acheiving and feeling quite confident and balanced, for that I am grateful! Thank you.

We are very happy with the quality of this school. We moved from one side of the district into Hollywood Beach territory and inadvertently discovered this wonderful place. My son is thriving here under excellent teachers and staff. I grew up in Pasadena when California schools were some of the best in the nation and this school reminds me of the opportunities that were available to me back then.

I have three children at this school and it is totally great! We actually moved my oldest from a private school because this one was so much better (way higher standardized test scores). Great teachers, great facilities and great use of technology at all levels. My kindergartener has 12 computers in his class that they all use daily. My older two have computer lab every day and they have self-paced programs that allow the kids to work ahead. They also have a full up band starting at fourth grade. I only wish every school were this great.

My son is in his second year at Hollywood Beach. The school is fantastic. The teachers are committed, caring, and have a great focus on education for all students.
