vicki & heidi in the office are the rudest unhappy ladies that work at Ana Verde elementary. It sad because the school is great & the teachers are awesome.
My son attends this school and I have to say that I was impressed this past year with his teacher (Mrs. Herrera). She got to know my son and understood what his needs were. My son was diagnosed with ADHD in 2008 and this is the first teacher who really worked with him so that he could excel. Thank you
This school needs a lot of improvement. Although it is a distinguished school there is many disciplinary issues with the children and communication issues with the office staff.
Anaverde Hills Elementary was recognized as a California Distinguished School as of March 2010.We have excellent teachers. The PTA is great. We are a small school of close to 300 students grades K-6th. I have 5 children, 3 of which attend Anaverde Hills Elementary since fall of 2007. Our teachers are dedicated to our children's education.
I have 2 children in this school and I am very happy with their progress. The teachers are very good. My kids are happy. They have good friends. Well rounded children.
We've moved, in large part, to get our son out of this school. Very disorganized, we're tired of finding out about meetings etc the night before. Our son never had homework even though school and state standards dictate a set amount, and the homework he did have was so basic it was a joke. I worry that with him going to a different school, he's going to be very far behind other kids after attending this school for two years. I honestly feel that our son has learned very little in his tenure at Anaverde and I'm glad he won't be attending any longer.
The month-long holiday at Christmas does seem excessively long; however, that is the policy of the Westside Union school district, not the individual schools On the other hand, people should also be aware that the district's summer break is three weeks shorter than those of the other districts. Westside's school year always begins in the middle of August. Which I hate.
I appreciate this school but think the Christmas and other holidays are way too long. Kids do not need a month off. Great teachers-Grandparent
I felt similar to these other parents tht have posted their comments. I think the parent involvement with the school has a lot to do wtih you child's outcome and experience. It's my two children's first year and my 9 yr old has adapted very well, my 6 year old is one that i had some issues with but I am taking it upon myself to volunteer, to get involve to help the school with what I can. Involvement of the parents is #1 in being able to get your child where they need be, unless you can afford private school.....well I think in the long run my children will be successful with what they will accomplish at this school.
I took my Daughter out of this school for many reasons. There are way too many students in one classroom. The Teachers can not control the children. Too many bullies in this school.
