There is something really wrong with the Principal, no wonder she is steeping down. She has absolutely no idea about the chain reaction effect of her way of handling issues, then she begs for Parents to recommend SAS so that the student numbers stop lowering . You take your issues to her and she will just not listen to your concerns and tell you that she has no time. Her way of running the school is directly affecting the numbers decline. Now as of the Teacher (2nd Grade) Very Simple, Irritable, short Tempered, Student Intimidating and lacks the essential talents to be able to successfully work and motivate Seven year old children. Over all here is my advice, The Public system can be more productive because they ironically will have more accountability for your child than a wrongfully run Private school with no teacher resources and bad leadership. Save your money for the higher grades.

My son has been going to St. Andrew since K, he is now in 2nd grade. I chose the school because I was immediately impressed with the principal and the kindergarten teacher. The principal (Sister Daleen), works extremely hard and goes the extra mile for every child. Our family is very sad to see her leave. The teachers have all been wonderful. My son reads at a much higher level than his grade, and is thriving in every subject. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a down to earth (not a lot of extracurriculars, maybe the only negative?), good education for their child.

I am happy to have my children at St. Andrew. I agree there are some issues with the way the principal handles matters at times, but she also cares for the children deeply. My second child is preparing to start this coming year and I am hopeful that he too will have a positive experience and learn as much as his brother has learned the last few years there. The teachers take extra steps to ensure each child learns what they need to and care enough to hold them back if they are not at the appropriate level. Instead of leaving over an issue I am confident that the high level of parent participation will resolve it as we all band toether for our children. Lastly I would like to share that at the mention of possibly changing schools my son cried that he did not want to leave his school....the kids love the school.

St. Andrew WAS a great school!!My emphasis is on the WAS part. My son attended the school from 3 yrs.Unfortunately this last year was very disappointing. How things can go from great to unfortunate in 1 year is beyond me. It was the lack of results from a few teachers and the principal that destroyed the school. Serious issues when brought to the principals attention were heard but you were never informed of the consequences that were taken. Other families went through the same things and left the school for that reason. Due to the lack of results and slow pace in which issues are resolved by the principal and the Father, wonderful families are leaving the school. We pay good money for our kids to go to this school and we have the right to demand issues are taken care off. My son used to love the school and was happy to be there but after this year all I heard was his complaints about how the teachers and Principle do not listen to the kids. The school will be very surprised at how many families will be leaving this next year. Registration numbers will be extremely off since they make you register 6 months before the end of the school year. Something seems very wrong here!

My son has been attending St. Andrew since K and he love's it and is now in 2nd grade. We are very impressed with how much he has learned with every teacher the past few years. We love how much Sister Daleen is involved in everything. I love the parent involvment as well. St. Andrew is a great school to send your children. I am happy we chose to send him to SAS.

If you are looking for Catholic school, this is absolutely the best school for your child(ren). We all expect academics to be above par at all Catholic schools and, yes, St. Andrew does have an excellent academic program. What separates this Catholic school from the rest is the true feeling of a community, the involvement of the church in the school. The church raises money for the school, the pastors visit the children frequently, the children attend 1st Friday mass, and 4th-6th graders get to be altar servers. Every mass is served by a team of St. Andrew students. It's not only the academics, it is who your children become that matter most when they leave this school.

I graduated from St. A's in 2008 and currently attend a Catholic high school. St. Andrew's gave me so much to prepare me for my life now. I attended the school since Kinder and I loved it. There I came to love my religion, my values, family, friends, service, and education. I gave everything into my life there and gave me even more in return. However, I think St. A's needs some more improvement. Camp Tiger has been lax and mild. Our academic program can help students more with orientation to high school. I did not know what were honors classes were until I registered into my current high school. I did not know that I needed at least one to achieve higher than a 4.0. Sports should also join CYO. In all, I loved St. Andrew's and it's better than most places in the area.

I considered taking my daughter out of this school and putting her in public school because of the cost, but I am just so impressed with St. Andrew's emphasis in math and reading for the early grades that I am committed to keeping her in this school along with her siblings. She takes home 1-2 pages of math homework a night and every night, she has to read 20 minutes and review a list of words to memorize daily (first grade). The smaller grades also have a t.a. and my daughter's class only has 23 students. I like the small atmosphere as well and I like how all the staff knows all the kids and families. Safety is also a reason why I chose to stay. And computer lab is great The only thing I wish is that there are more activities and a hot lunch program everyday.

My daughter has been at Saint Andrew School for 2 years. We are very happy with the school. She is in the 1st grade and her class size is small. She has a reasonable amount of homework/reading required each week and her teachers in both K and 1st are very well organized. We choose to send her here initially b/c we were impressed with the discipline and the community/family environment of the school. I think the biggest drawback is that a lot the student body has working parents so there may not be as much parent involvement and extra activities as other private schools.
