This is a school that is so well cared for by the students, staff, and families that attend. The teachers are there because they want to be, and the parents are ALL there to support both the teachers, and kids. The only important piece of this puzzle that is missing is excellent principal leadership. If the leadership of this school was as in tune with the needs of the children, then this school would be five stars for sure!!!
Grant School has been an excellent school for both of my children! The teachers are experienced and very collaborative. They really know how to differentiate the curriculum so that all levels of learning are accommodated, and the teachers support one another. The parents are very involved, and there is alot of volunteer support in the classrooms and other school activities. My older child was well prepared for Jr. High and made a very successful transition this year, and my younger child is thriving here!
Grant School is a perfect school if you are looking for a differentiated education for your child. Teachers take the time to identify individual students needs and hone in on those. Also, the parent community is very involved in making sure that the children and teachers are given all the support they need. We love Grant School!
My kids love it. The have so much to offer. The upper grades get to do an enrichment rotation, and they love it. My son loves the docent led art projects. The grounds are beautiful and it is always nice to see the children gardening at lunch time and after school. The parents are nice and involved and of course they have great test scores. Very balanced and perfect for my kids!
Grant has been a great school for my kids! It has very dedicated and caring teachers and a lot of parent involvement, with a very active PTA. If it only had strong leadership again, this school could be excellent!
Grant has great test scores and some very dedicated teachers. Strong parent involvement but also some parent cliques. Leadership is lacking. The playground is not well supervised and aggressive demeaning behavior is allowed. Not bad, but could be so much more.
Generally decent school, safe learning environment, good parent involvement. My only criticism, Politics have entered the classroom. It is a school very much intune with a liberal leaning curriculum. If that's your mind set, it's a great school for you. It's not mine, but otherwise the school is fine.
its my daughters first year too and her grades went from b's to all A+ I love GRANT
This is my daughter's first year at Grant, and I am beyond impressed. There is definitely a commitment to creating a lasting positive impression of learning at a time in children's lives when the impact is greatest. Hats off!
Grant School is a great school. It is a public school with a private school feel. The teachers are wonderful and caring. The learning environment is incredible. Both my kids went there from 1st grade through 6th grade. We had two different school principals. Now there is a new one. The principals really do change the atmosphere at the school. It is always good to do research on the new principal and what parents have experienced with them.
