A travesty while this school is located in a nice area the school is increasing in its Hispanic enrollment resulting from busing. Morse is quickly becoming an ESL school.
My child went to Morse for a part of the year in 2006. I imagine Morse could be a great school, but for us, it was not.
The academic programs are great at this school because the staff and the principal are terrific. They are all very into putting the students first and going all the way for them. The school was recently made a distinguished school. Parents love this school and many are there to help out the teachers and the students. I am a student teacher at this school and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the environment and atmosphere. I would definitely send my child to this school.
My son attended from 1-6 and my daughter is currently attending K-5. I feel that education starts at home the responsibility is ours. This school has made improvements for students who are able to go above and beyond the basics. It is not the school's fault that they have to spend so much time, money, energy and focus on remediation. I am proud of the teachers and administration for their daily efforts towords all students who attend Morse.
I like the layout of the school, and the teachers are all wonderful, as well as the office staff. The Principal however is rude and unorganized. I can't emphisize how great the teachers and office staff are though.
I don't understand why my child has to be stuck at a school that is below average in order to not have to hassle the interdistrict transfer. I have chosen to pay for her tuition rather than go to a mediocre rated school such as this. It is truly ridiculous!
Morse is a school that every child should be grateful to attend. In my opinion the education received at this school goes beyond what is required of the state standards. The leadership is wonderful, from the principal to the staff, each child receives individual attention which I feel is crucial for growth and development.
While this is considered to be a friendly neighborhood school, it seriously lacks in intervention opportunities for above average students. The focus is definatly centered upon those who fall behind, which is great for some, but not for all.
