I am a parent of a graduate as well as a current student. There are quite a few limitations at this school, funding, parent involvement, and behavior management. As a whole though the school works hard to make the school a safe and progressive learning institute. My graduate excelled at the school and was part of the largest graduating class in 30 years. She is currently is attending attending UCLA working on a major in Geophysics. Richmond does have problems. What school doesn't? On the whole though it has a positive learning environment. The teachers and staff all know and knew my childrens names. You don't find that in all schools. They know them because they're good students not trouble makers. There are a few but the majority of the are good hardworking kids. The teachers do genuinly care about the kids.
very good school, i love the way in that you can ask to the teachers your student's involvement any problem or discrepancy with your kid is informed to you
This is a great school, I'm a student here and I find this school as a great place to learn and for students, like me, to build their future and receive the tools required to not only graduate but to be successful after graduation.
These kids are barely scraping by academically. If their families don't get more involved, (teachers can only do so much to 'kick butt') these students are doomed to a life of poverty, crime and lost opportunities. Such terrible scores! such lack of regard for learning, achieving and now, a terrible crime to scar the school's reputation for a long, long time to come. Richmond gives a bad name to the population that resides there. Shame on you all; tax payers should be screaming in protest to support a lousy school like this one!
this school has great teachers. with a number of good students
Richmond High School has a lot of opportunity for students like me that has interests in Sciences but they ingorned the offer because they want to act cool infront of there friends but they look like fools to me.
It's not really bad it's just needs more funding for activities to do like other traditional high schools. It all depends on the courses, the teachers you got and the students that make it. Some thing just stand out more than others. Of course people always make the bad news the big talk of the day.... and out of all the things that happen only the bad ones are highlighted.
although there are interruptions by the students, i think it's a great school
people say its a bad school but is not.. a lot of people don't see how hard others try to make Richmond high a better place to learn.....
Its not a bad school like everyones usually told. The only thing is that some of the students are not willing to pay attention & respect their teachers. And some teachers are not qualified enough to handle the students. Sometimes i would go in the class. and the teacher handed us a packet. & that was it. Maybe its because of the limit in school supplies & textbooks that are given to the school, but i believe the teachers should have the power to try and really teach their students. But, there are also a lot of teachers that really get close with the students, and motivate them, show them that they can succeed and go to college. Overall. i would give the school a 4. I think it all depends on the student. & wether or not they wanna learn.
