RUN, don't walk, AWAY from this school if you desire a well-rounded education for your child. This school does not focus on the whole child. Class sizes are too big for the cost...over 30 kids per class! There are some public schools in the area with an equivalent education and class size. If you have money and/or social status in the community, you will be a part of the inner circle. Bullying occurs, with teachers turning a blind eye unless the child involved is part of the "elite." The only benefit of attending this school is if you desire a religious curriculum for your child.

I would rate St.Ignatius as squarely average. My children were enrolled in the preschool for 2 years and when it came times for Kindergarten we were told that there was no room. Parents BE AWARE. St. Ignatius and OLA in particular have very large preschools but relatively small Kindergarten classes. We were told/were not aware of this when we enrolled in preschool. After 3 years at St. Ignatius we were left in the lurch trying to find another school. It was extremely disruptive for our children. The school gives priority to the Catholic parishioners. Although we are Catholic, we are not parishioners at St. Ignatius, therefore were not given priority. I agree with some of the other parents that this school certainly has an elitist vibe (even though they will try to deny it). Parents on the whole are nice and actively involved in the school. This school requires heavy parent participation. Academically it is high average....there are other schools that offer a more well rounded education especially in the earlier years,

I have 2 kids in this school. My eldest has been in this school since Transition Kinder and he's now going to 6th grade. Never in our 7 years here have we felt that this school is racist nor elitist as other parents said on their reviews. We are not Caucasian Americans nor a wealthy family. Our kids are average kids (in sports or academics) but we are treated equally like any other family in school. FYI, this school has students that are under the tuition fee assistance but you will never know who they are because everybody treats them the same. The only reason we know this is because we have that in our program. True this school is not perfect but we feel safe having our children here.

St. Ignatius has a great faculty and staff that go above and beyond for their students. It starts from the top and works down. They have a great community that want everyone to be included and receive a great education!

The community and sense of family is incredible. The teachers, staff and parents have one goal - the children!

Excellent school!! Great values!! Amazing teachers!! Wonderful sports program! Attentive principal!! Vast extra-curricular activities!! We looked at several private schools before sending our 2 children to St. Ignatius. The schools reputation stands for itself. I interviewed the local private high schools before enrolling my children at St. Ignatius and was told St. Ignatius students are always prepared. We are very pleased with the education they are receiving. The sense of community and warm friendly atmosphere is abundant. The students are held to high standards and this is evident in the school work they produce. This school is above the rest on preparing our children for high school. Very high parent involvement which I find enhances the sense of family and community.

I enrolled my child in this school becuse it has a great reputation for its academic standards. I feel that this is true but there were other components of the school we didn't like and were the deciding factors for taking our child out of the school. Most of the parents and children are snobby and have elitist attitudes which totally goes against Catholic teachings, and the kids are very clique-if your kid didn't start with their class from kindergarten, then it is hard to make friends. Differences between children are cruelly pointed out and rarely addressed by staff and administration. These attitudes are uncharacteristic of the christian spirit we were looking for in a school. Parent involvement and sports are a high priority.

Good school if they 'like' your child. I think their classes are too big. More concerned with test scores and winning at sports, they miss the big picture. Kids were thrilled when they left.

S. Ignatius is an outstanding school. I have three children presently enrolled there and hope to be able to keep all of them there unil they complete the 8th grade. The administration is great, teachers are wonderful, although with all people some could improve. The best thing about St. Ignatius is the community atmosphere. It really is a place where warmth, caring and nuruturing occurs. From the excellence of the Academic Decatholon (3rd in State 2008), to girl's flag football team, to track and field and extended services, St. Ignatius aspires to develop not just a excellent student but an honorable, well rounded human being. I feel blessed that my children are able to attend St. Ignatius....Chad Thompson

I've been at this school for eight years. I am currently in the seventh grade. I love all my teachers and the school is perfect for everything. I learn so much and am treated like family. The teachers are great and welcoming and I have made so many friends and I have never felt unwanted.

I currently have two children at St. Ignatius School, and I soon will have three. I can't say enough great things about the school. There is a genuine sense of community both for the children and the parents. The teachers are excellent and most of them have been with the school over 10 years, so the children look upon them as family. They can count on the faculty for guidance as well as for their scholastic education. The quality of the education is excellent with plenty of extracurricular activities available for all students. The parents are very involved - the children love seeing all the parents on campus (it adds to the family feel of the school). Overall - St. Ignatius provides a safe/friendly and encouraging environment in which the kids can excel.

All three of my children have attended St. Ignatius and I don't think it is perfect by any means. That being said, I think the positives out weigh the negatives. The parent involvement is not only high but required, the sports programs have always been very good. Art, Music and Spanish seem to be a side note in the school program. I would like to see more male teachers and smaller class size. The only reservation I really have is when my children entered the sixth grade, in hindsight I probably should of moved them because I feel the school really falls apart at that point. If you have a high achieving child that does well academically it would be fine.

St. Ignatuis was the worst school my son has ever attended. The school is very prejudice and racist and I highly recommend that you do not enroll your son here if he is African-American. The teachers there really do favor the students they like(athletes and high class students) and treat all the other students either normally or bad. At the new public school my son attends he shows me his homework and I always notice that the material they are learning is harder than that of St. Ignatius(the private school). I highly recommend that you do not enroll your child at this school.
