Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

The people who put 1 star don't know even the tiniest of anything Ramona has to offer. And all the parents blabbing like oh it's Iti hard for them there's to muh bulling. First help u kid. Don't blame on the school. Second go to the school and ask don't let ur kid take care of it. All the people who gave one star don't know how To parent or help there kid so the parents blame it on the school and say it's to hard my kids a genius. Nope he's not it's so easy. He's failing because ur failing as a parent. This is the best school in california!

The school is undoubtedly pathetic and overestimated by those who give more than three stars to this mediocre environment. For a start, every band (with the exception of the Wind Ensemble) is far below their recommended potential. The band director, herself, is an amazing woman and I would recommend her, but her students lack the enthusiasm and simple manners to put ANY effort into their performances. It is an absolute miracle that any of the students improved during their year(s) in Wind Ensemble. Next, language arts. Their grammar, in most classes, seem exceptional enough. As for reading, the students are beyond pathetic and are not nearly challenged enough to exceed "AR points." With a minimum of 13, you would expect this pathetic garbage to be a kindergarten class. Tyheor math classes seem to exceed their potential more than anything, along with social studies. Their physical classes also seem to encourage personal fitness with each student. All in all, I would never decide to be a part of this school's atmosphere- if they could even comprehend the word.

My son is in 6th grade and our experience is been awful. School personnel are not professional and teacher on the most part don't act professional. My son has been bullied and taunted and when he defend himself, he was blame for causing problems. I am tired of the way staff handle issues and blame my son. I've been to school several times and situation continues the same. Policies are randomly enforce for example dress code. I've seen girls with short that are just to short for school. I have other kids and I will think it before ill send them here.

Ramona Middle School, is a great school.First of all, Ramona has a strict dress code that will not let children wear whatever they please. As in really short shorts or inappropriate shirts. Also, when state testing comes around all the teachers work really hard to prepare the students. Health wise, Ramona has everyone taking PE classes to keep students in shape, for example running the mile every Wednesday. And at Ramona there are many great opportunities. My children were in Choir and Band and had the privilege to travel to different states and go to amusement parks and such. Very importantly the children were taught great leadership skills because of two groups called W.E.B and ASB. And these groups teach the kids good leadership skills. My children's favorite part about this school were the action teams. The split up the school by last names and put them in color teams and they would compete throughout the year, but the only kids that were able to compete were the ones who got a 3.0 gpa or higher. Another great thing about this school is that in order for the kids to work hard they have great incentives. SEND YOUR KIDS TO RAMONA!

We've had 2 of our kids go through Ramona & Thank Goodness our last child is almost done! Both of my older kids hated this school, my son was bullied. For 2 weeks I complained & nothing was done. After 2 weeks if telling my son to walk away & ignore the bullies, I told him to take care of it! I received a call telling me to come pick up my son because he was being suspended for fighting. I informed them that I had all of my complains in writing and recorded. As I arrived to pick up my son I gave them copies of everything just incase they tried to say they lost their copies & I informed them that I would return later in the week with ch. 7 & my child's attorney. Needless to say my son was not suspended but was told not to mention what had happened & to stay away from the bullies who had now turned into the victims! Staff is Rude, Teachers are Bullies & Rude. I have encountered some great teachers at Ramona and am so glad my youngest has had a pretty okay time there, but I make sure all her teachers know that am there for all & any complains!

Run for the hills!!! This school is a complete joke!!! From the principle all the way down. Office staff is horrible. With exception of band, this place is an embarrassment to the Bonita School District!!!

Worst Middle school ever!!!!... These 5 star reviews must be staff members posing as parents. This school is a paradise for bullies. My son had numerous incidents, and we finally took it up to the principals office and counselor. They said my son was overreacting. Now my son gets bullied for "snitching". In addition there is only few teachers worth giving credit to. This is the worst school my children ever attended. The front office staff is very very rude! We will never return to this school!!!!

After reading these reviews, I had to write my own. My son survived this school only because of his good childhood friends and his awesome young female band instructor. Teachers will not put in any "additional" effort toward helping their students. Some teachers display attitudes like their job is simply a paycheck, and not a stepping stone to your child's future. Negative atmosphere. Very disappointing.

Extremely Unpleasant Atmosphere! Poorly managed and students just can t wait to get out. Things just get worst; This school is never going to be successful. School has way too many students that the staff ignores bad behavior from both teachers and students! If at all possible, avoid this school at all costs!

AVOID THIS SCHOOL IF POSSIBLE!!! Minimum effort from the teachers. Many of my child's assignments get returned to him ungraded! When I addressed the problem, they conceded that it does happen, but had an "oh well" attitude! The rude staff walks around like they hate their job and their face hurts. My child would be in private school if I could afford it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HORRIBLE experience at Ramona Middle School... This school needs help all the way around! Good luck speaking directly to the principle with concerns, the staff cuts you off as they try to handle serious situations themselves. We've had many problems with some of the teachers. Two of them have misplaced multiple assignment of my daughters that I personally helped her in completing. Bullying remains a popular problem that is shrugged off, as if the bullied child is overreacting. All of these 5 stars must be from the staff... even if you are if you are lucky enough to have no problems at all, it's a 2 or 3 star school at best! In all fairness, there's a couple good teachers worth mentioning.

Ramona middle school is one of the best schools in the San Gabriel Valley. I have had 2 children go through Ramona and have a 3rd child in 6th grade now. My children have received a quality education with a strong math and science background. The math and science teachers here are some of the best around. They are ALWAYS willing to go above and beyond to make sure the students understand the subject. When I have gone to the office the office staff have always been kind and helpful to me. My children are not trouble makers, come to school regularly and are polite to their teachers and peers, therefore we have never had any trouble with the administration, staff or other children.

Sad, Sad, School!!! VERY unpleasant office staff!.. You feel the negative energy as soon as you enter! Ramona is weak on Bullying!!! My child along with 'countless' other parents have told us they are having the exact same problems!!! Your child will just be a number at this school... way over crowded! Your child will not get much one on one attention! I do NOT recommend!

This has been a great school for my child. Being in education myself, I have been extremely impressed with the administration and the teachers. This is our 2nd year at Ramona and at Back to School Night this year, you could definitely see the continuity between the subject areas and the pride the teachers and staff had in the school. It is so nice to see such positive energy and dedication from the Ramona Staff! You ROCK!

Unfriendly office staff, weak administration and very few teachers willing to put in extra effort to help students in need. I have had 3 children go through this school and have watched it go from bad to worse in the past 3 years.

Our experience with this middle school has been tremendously disappointing. We have 5 children, 2 of which have attended this school. The attitude of the administrative staff has declined and their attention to students is derisory. My many attempts to communicate with staff were received unpositively. Leadership is definitely lacking at this school and there are little to few attempts to keep students' morale up.

I rate them a thumbs down. Completely disappointed. High volume of bullies. I was so depressed. Administrative staffs are very truculent. I did love being a teachers aid. JR

Ramona is an AWESOME school. If you want to know which teachers are best here they are: For sixth grade, the best teacher is Ms. Berkler who is a Physical Education teacher who pushes the students to new heights in their personal fitness. For seventh grade, the best teacher is Ms. Stenmo who teaches English. She is young, funny, modern, has a great vocabulary, and loves UCLA. For eighth grade, I choose Mrs. Brownlee who teaches Algebra. I do not have her as a teacher but as a tutor. She pushes her students to their full potential and is very appreciative of her students.

I was very disappointed with this school. I was expecting more. The teachers weren't very nice or smart in my opinion. The principle could have been nicer and more understanding of the children's needs

I have a 7th grader at Ramona & we both love the school. Great teachers, staff, & students. Never have had a problem with any bullies(see below). Communication with the teachers & school is great with the recorded phone calls & e-mails. This is my 3rd child going thru Ramona & I really have had a great experience with this middle school!!

My daughter attended here 2 years ago and now I have a second child I am forced to send here due to scheduling conflicts and unable to send to private school. It is worse than it used to be and the administration is severly lacking and appear almost clueness to the needs of the students. It is a depressing school with little to offer in terms of assistance or challenge. There are far too many bullies and fights and not enough caring staff to handle them effectively or efficiently.

The RSP program at Ramona is not well organized. The homework class accomplishes little and the work done and supposedly checked is often incorrect. My child thinks he has done it right because it has been checked. Therefore, the rest of the math sheet is wrong. Each year at the annual meeting the goals are set yet the RSP program does not follow through. Phone calls have not been returned. I think the RSP program needs to be reviewed.

Our son is really happy with Ramona. He is getting the most out of his science class because it is so 'hands-on'. Mrs. Miller is such an excellent teacher who has a passion for her students and helping them really understand science. I was devastated to hear that she will not be returning next year due to the districts lack of understanding how important it is for kids to learn through exploring and understanding concepts first-hand, through doing experiments and hands-on lessons. It has paralyzed teachers throughout the district by taking away the importance of true understanding and replacing it with surface knowledge that won't last a lifetime. I hope, for the sake of our children, that the Director of Curriculum/Assessment soon realizes that all these 'standards' mean nothing without real knowledge, and the wisdom from experienced teachers, or creativity from any teacher should not be brushed away.

The fact that the teachers show interest in connecting with a parent through informative e-mails is a positive. The teachers should continue to keep the parents informed of progress. The weekly progress reports help in making that possible. I'd say it's a pretty good school.

My son is very happy at Ramona. All my experiences with the teachers and administrators have been positive. Twice there were issues with bullies and the teachers, Principal, and VP solved the problem the very next day.

Ramona is an adequate school, if you have an above average student. For a parent to get their child extra help is like pulling eye teeth. A stuggling student will not receive help unless it is too late. There are few excellent teachers, but not enough for me to send my children back there next year.

Of all the schools in La Verne, this one school appears to get the least help in improving and is the most critical for the future of the children. The ages of the students attending is still in the very formative years and should be given more attention by the district. Computer ratio to children is extremely bad, discipline and education levels are still very poor compared to the grade schools and High School. Why isn't more attention, money, parent involvement, and staff involvement encouraged for this school? If these problems could be resolved, perhaps more students would continue to keep an interest in their education. This is a critical three years in their lives and should be treated accordingly.
