We feel very lucky to be a part of this unique school and fabulous community. This school is about the big picture, not just test scores. Children here come away with a well rounded education and are part of a richly diverse student body that represents the city beautifully.

While the elementary school is good, the middle school is just awful. By the time the kids get there, they're in tight cliques--not the school's fault, but the school's response to this is just awful. They try, but it's all lip service. Except for one or two good teachers, the middle school is very mediocre. There are no honors classes so some kids are either very bored or over stretched. It's easy for mediocre students to do well here if the teachers like them. If I had to do it again I'd definitely take my son out after elementary school.

Were art is not simply something we do, but is the lens through which our children learn how to think creatively and critically. A place where community, the joys and the struggles are embraced so our children thrive in body, mind and spirit!

Rooftop is truly a place that fosters a love for learning, love for others and love for life. Our daughter is building the foundation of learning that will stay with her throughout her life.

Being a part of The Rooftop community has changes my families life in a most positive way. My children enjoy going to school to learn and I have learned the importance of being involved in a community that truly cares enough to make a change to better what needs to improved for our childrens sake.

The teachers love what they do there and the parents tend to be very involved in the school. It's a great community to learn in!

It comes as no surprise that Rooftop is one of San Francisco s favorite schools. A caring community, a thriving art program, stellar academics, a diverse student body (more than any other public school in SF), smart teachers, centrally located and what s not to love about programs such as sensory motor and nature science in the garden. Rooftop is a wonderful environment for kids and parents.
