INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My son attends the Saratoga location. He started as a pre-K, stay briefly in Jr-K and will be in the school's Kindergarten program. He just really loves the school (his friends/the teachers). The school has a very positive impact on him and I guess that's why spending monry for this private school is not just the right choice, but the necessary choice for us.

My son has been attending ActionDay/Primary Plus since he was one and thru the 3rd grade. It has become so much more than just a school/daycare...it is like family. We have made many friendships with families that will last a lifetime. We love the daycare/afterschool care/before school care that they offer. It makes it so convenient because the school is almost always open except for major holidays! The only downfall I have experienced is the price and some of the academics I feel is across the board and there is no special help for kids that are struggling or for kids that are excelling.

My son's attended Pre-K through JrK at Primary Plus Amber and we've had a great experience here. There are lots of after school classes and sports programs that he has enjoyed. As full time working parents we appreciate having these easy options for extra curricular/enrichment programs that can't all be done in the evenings and weekends. The transition from school to extended after school care is seamless.

My younger son is in elementary school at the Primary Plus Amber campus in San Jose. During his elementary and secondary years, my older son, now in high school, was a student at a couple of well known private schools, one in Palo Alto and one in Saratoga. Frankly my younger son's overall elementary experience is tremendously better than my older son's. Primary Plus is amazingly underrated and I wish I had known about the school when my older son was younger. The school does more than 'have a philosophy,' classroom curriculum is integrated throughout the campus and academic and artistic/whole child teaching occur for all disciplines. Finally, my younger son is clearly learning a tremendous amount, academically, artistically, and socially, and I know from comparing his work to that produced by students at my older son's former schools, that he is well ahead -- and without feeling pushed or pressured.

We have a daugher in Jr. K. Good caring teachers. Good curriculum. Very little parent-socialization opportunities as most parents work, and that bothers me. Although I'm also working, there's more socialization at my other kids' school. Has homework expecting parents' help and we love it. The program does not offer so much hands-on or creative experience, though. Very academic oriented, than social/developmental.

The only complaint I have about primary plus would have to be a lack of communication from the administrators. The teacher are great. My kid loves it there.

My son first started with Primary Plus in their action day preschool program. The quality of the teachers are excellent. I also love the fact that it has smaller class sizes. My son is in second grade and there are 18 kids. Very good school.

My son has been attending Primary Plus for 2 years (preschool and K) in EL Quito location. He obsolutely loves it and learns while having fun. He is already reading simple words and adding single digit numbers and loves doing it.

My daughter attended kindergarten at this school and she had a wonderful experience. Her teacher was excellent. She made the extra effort to keep in contact with us as the parents and really treated each child as an individual. She really motivated my daughter to be interested in learning.

Primary Plus has been great for my daughter. She is only 3 and she has learned so much. Most of all the learning is made to be fun. My daughter is happy when I pick her up. If I ever have any issue's they listen. Making there best effort to make me feal great about my daughter's schooling.

My son attends the Phelan campus since 15 months and I love the teachers there, especially the ones in Room 3. They are very caring and do a lot of art works with the children during the day

Both my children attended Primary Plus since they were babies and we are exceptionally happy with the staff and cirriculum. In elementary school, the children were still able to work at their own pace (which was excellerated) and received lots of individual attention. My oldest son now attends Bellarmine high school, and my second son will attend there next year as well. Very good education!

I have 2 kids at Primary plus and we have been so happy with the school. They have experienced and caring teachers. The class size is low and the kids always get lots of one on one attention from the staff. My kids always test 1-2 grades above where they are at. The kids go on many field trips throughout the year based on what they are learning. Primary plus has many after school activities for the kids to get involved with. Their dance program is excellent, with a big show at the end of the school year. I highly recommend checking out Primary Plus if you are not happy with your current school situation.

My son has been at this school since Kindergarten. All the teachers are exceptionally warm. Each one has taken a personal interest in my son, and they have worked with his social and emotional development as well as his academics. The children at the school are well-mannered and have respect for others. There are so many extra activities for my son, and the best part is he can participate during school/daycare hours so I don't have to take time off of work! We love Primary Plus and can't see going to any other school!

I have heard nothing but good things about the Primary Plus Elementary program. Our daughter has been in the infant/preschool program since she was 4 months old and we plan on enrolling her for Kindergarten. The program is academically challenging but at the same time gives the children valuable social skills. I am confident that she will succeed next year and on through 8th grade with them! The onsite dance classes and annual recital performance is fantastic, too!

Our child has ADHD, SIDS and dyslexia. We wanted a familiy oriented school that would be understanding of our son's special needs. Mrs. Rodriguez, the new principal, as well as other individuals met our son, reviewed available documentation and felt that Primary Plus would provide a positive, healthy experience for our son. Academically, Primary Plus SAT test scores are in the 80% - 90%+ range. Mrs. Rodriquez made it feasible for our son to get the afterschool tutoring he needs. He loves his tutor. He is making new friends, having fun, and most importantly, we've cut his meds by 60%. His summer school teachers, his current teacher, and tutor are great. They make themselves available to me for updates on his academics, behavior, attention, transitions and other matters we need to monitor. We appreciate the monthly Parents Night Out and the year-round school/day care coverage. They also offer healthy, affordable lunches.

This school is a wonderful blend of academic and enrichment activities for children. I am very pleased with the academic offerings at the school and greatly appreciate the extra enrichment possibilites in the dance and sports. I highly recommend the total program.

My child has been at Primary Plus for 6 years, having started as an infant. I am delighted with the progress that he has made. He is a good student, but more important than that he is truly interested in learning. He is open to new ideas and has learned to think of alternatives to problems. We feel that the skills he has learned at this program will add to his success in future education.

My daughter attends Primary Plus for their full day program. Our family is pleased with her academic development and thrilled that she is able to take part in valuable enrichment activities as a part of her total school experience. She is enrolled in dance, a computer class and is a member of a sports team all as part of her school day. We feel that these activities will lead to her future development. We find the staff to be warm and caring.

My son has entered his 5th year at Primary Plus and I feel he has an excellent foundation and is far exceeding the level of education he would have received from the public system. He not only has a strong grasp of academic basics but he has also acheived excellent social skills. Through the use of projects and verbal reports he has developed strong leadership abilities. The school is staffed with teachers who genuinely care about the children and provide a well rounded program. The staff always keep the parents informed on a formal and informal basis regarding their childrens progress. My son enjoys school!

There are quite a few teachers that have been here for 10+ years. Most extracurricular activities have a high charge, however, they all funnel into an end of the year dance held at the Center of Performing Arts which is an activity the kids/school look forward to. The kids are well looked after and the smaller class size (~22) offer the individual attention hoped for in the public schools. The downside of this is that at times the kids are 'coddled' and may have difficulty in adapting to a public school. In regards to a 'PTA' type of organization, it is as normal...a few parents doing the majority of the volunteering for the good of the kids/school.

This isn't what I consider one of those 'intense college prep gradeschools'. We didn't want that for our kids. This school does very well in national testing rankings, and more importantly, our girls are learning at a good rate. Plus they're happy there. We are very pleased and sometimes amazed with the progress they've made. Most notably in reading and math. Overall we are happy with the teachers. Our girls wouldn't be going there if the classroom environment wasn't notably better than what we found at the public schools. The kids learn a healthy respect for the adults and other kids there. And there are lots of activities.

I must disagree with the other evaluations. If they are so terrible why would 1 mother have all 3 of her children in the school and a total cost in exxcess of 30K a yr. My son has done extremely well in the school. I had some concerns however I feel the teachers have been quite helpful in showing him his potential. While I don't always agree with their ways of handling behavior problems. They do. They impress respect which now a days no kid has enough of.

I have three children currently enrolled. My oldest has had some very good teachers but needed some help with math. We had to hire a tutor to correct the problems that she had learned. My son is struggling and we've had to hire a tutor. He is progressing but it is uncertain if he will pass. I think that math basics need to be focused on more and while class size is small, my kids still have developed bad habits that I don't think they should have. The teachers care and are good teachers but they don't focus on the basics like adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, and how to correctly write letters and numbers.

Teachers and principal could care less about the child that doesn't fit into the 'box'. There is a 'turn and look the other way' policy at this school. Teachers have been caught subjecting students to their opinions and bad temperaments. Not worth the money you spend.
