My two nephews go there and they love it. They say their teachers are awesome and they look forward to going everyday. That to me speaks wonders.

I love Harding Elementary because it's a great school where the teachers love to teach and children love to learn. We have wonderful parents who care so much about their childrens learning and school community. At Harding we are exploring different ways to take the lead in taking care of our world by having a site based kitchen where all the food is fresh and healthy. We have a zero waste kitchen by compositing everything. Even the utensils! This year we started a great garden where our kids can learn first hand where our food comes from. We have a Farmers' Market every Wednesday again to help families have access to wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables from our local community. This year we also are embarking on a new venture to become an IB World School.

The teachers are wonderful, and so is the principal, but I feel like the entire school is aiming way too low. The test scores reflect that. Not having much money, and not speaking English fluently is no excuse. Other schools in the area have 40% and above of English learners and they can still pass state tests. I also feel like this school lacks discipline and consequences for the students, and the staff speak very condescending to parents.

Harding School has teachers who really try hard to educate their students. I was a volunteer working with students there who had a number of problems but by the end of the semester, they were back on track.

It's a true neighborhood school that does a great job in the face of very challenging circumstances.
