Profile Completeness

ADVANCED

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

This school values good grades and success. The students who choose to succeed will be given the right resources, help, and encouragement to do so. There are people who choose to ignore the importance of school, but if you don't mind them you will do great. The remodeling makes the school much more modern and clean. Some teachers are given a bad reputation at the school but most of them make the school as great as it is.

I've just started the school, and I find it very interesting. I'm not saying that it is the best middle school in Santa Clara, but I'm saying that it is alright. People say that the school is ratchet and ghetto, but only some people are. That is caused because of the way that they are raised.

Bullying is the hottest topic at this school. Your child will not be happy here, unless of course they are the one bullying other people

I have been a teacher for 17 years and I have been at Cabrillo for 7 years.. We have the best Administration. The teachers care and give 100%. I love teaching this age group. The sky is the limit for these kids. Also, the school is being remodeled, so the classrooms are nice. The fitness room is going to be out of this world. In addition, we have all kinds of after school sports and programs. Most importantly Cabrillo has a great group of students!

From Teachers to Administration - this is one of the finest Middle Schools I have seen and this is why my son is at this school. I had a choice. The involvement and personalization and attention to students is phenominal considering other schools in the District. Academics is stressed, as well as issues and concerns related to the students and things non-academic. The after-school programs / athletics / City's Youth Activity Center (YAC) next door offer multitudes of options for consideration by both students and parents. There is something for everyone. It's a school that cares and makes a difference!

Hi, my daughter has attended Cabrillo since the 6th grade and now is an 8th grader. Her grades have gone from a 2.3 GPA to a 3.0 GPA and higher. She seems to enjoy the teachers and the school as a whole. It has been challenging for her at times but the teachers were more than willing to help. She is proud to be a student at Cabrillo school and so are we. She is looking forward to high school and post high school.

After transferring my child from a middle school where the police were on campus every day and my child feared for her safety, Cabrillo was like a breath of fresh air. The staff, starting with the principal/vice principal, teachers, all the way down to the office and custodial staff, really care about the students. The youth activity center is right next door, where students can go after school for homework assistance or recreational activities. Cabrillo is smaller than the other two middle schools in the district and therefore able to provide more individualized attention. We will miss Cabrillo and will always remember with fondness the time spent there.

I feel fortunate for my son attending Juan Cabrillo Middle School. He was accepted through Santa Clara Unified School District's 'Open Enrollment' process. His grades have progressed in comparison to last years grades while attending 6th grade in a different middle school. I am happy with the teacher involvement along with the school counselors.
