Jersey Avenue Elementary School

I am a current resident of Downey. My son attended the Plaza Headstart program/class room (Which by the way is wonderful as well) located inside the Jersey campus. So, we decided to keep and enroll him in Jersey elementary for regular grade school. Jersey is truly a wonderful school with dedicated teachers, staff and Mrs. Johnson is a great principal. My son is doing great and is on top of his class. Parent participation is key, and Jersey is constantly reminding us as parents the importance of getting involve in our children's education. JERSEY scores top 10 in my book. I would personally like to thank Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Wann, for making my son's very first year of school a very pleasant and memorable of many school years to come:)

Very happy we enrolled our Daughter in Jersey. She's shown an immense interest in School. She has excelled in all subjects. The staff at Jersey is AMAZING. They show genuine interest in kids. I'm amazed on how Mrs. Johnson has memorize the kids names. It's impressive :) I can't wait for my little one to start Kindergarten. I know she will develop the same interest in school as her Sister. Too bad Mrs. Wann wont be there anymore :/ I'm sure she'll develop a special connection with her Teacher.

I am very impressed with this school. This past school year was my son's first year attending and I saw such an improvement not only in his academics but also in his attitude towards school. He went from dreading school to actually looking forward to going each day. His reading and math skills improved tremendously. The teachers and staff are wonderful and they genuinely care. I highly recommend this school.

Jersey Avenue is by far one of the best schools around. Education is their priority. It's an example for other schools to follow.

This is my daughters first year and I must say I am impressed. The teachers are great, communication in fabulous and I feel privileged to have my child attend Jersey. I have seen the improvement in her academics and social skills.... Thank you

I have had children attending Jersey for the past seven years and have had nothing but a great experience and my children love that school. Jersey is a very strong academic school with spectacular parent involvement. The teachers work as a team and between the parents and the staff Jersey is like a big family. Mrs.Soto has done a awsome job. With her open door policy and her leadership ability Jersey eagles have soared for the sky!(she will be missed).

I have 3 children and they all attended Jersey Elementary. It's a very good school with good teachers. They have lots of programs for the parents to get involved with the children. The principal is always there to help. Their PTA has good field trips which my kids always enjoyed.

This school is really dedicated to the kid's learning. If they see any underdevelopments ex: speech, low in reading, they will help your child till they reach there goal. I know this because my son had a studdering problem and they worked with him for alittle over 2 years and he graduated from speach class he no longer studders.
