Unfortunately, Lakeview has taken a nosedive in the past 2-3 years. The teachers are still wonderful, however, some serious issues - out of their control - weigh the score down. 1) The budget disaster & huge cuts distracted the faculty and the kids have been short-chjanged. 2) No lockers, no books. Books NEVER go home. The students get copied pages of the textbook section they need, but they can't read ahead, use reference material, etc. The lack of lockers may not seem like a huge issue, but wait until you have had to pay for the gym clothes THREE times in three months. At $50 a pop, it becomes ridiculous. Would you leave your unlocked car in a high-crime area with the keys in the ignition? 30-40% of the kids who go to there are not zoned for Lakeview. There is no oversight on this crippling problem.
All the teachers at our school are very passionate about their subjects and dedicated to helping students succeed.
I give this school a big fat 5! I love this school. It's clean and safe for our kid's. We have a great staff that works very hard to bring out the best in evey student. Now that's team work!
