Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

this is such a great elementary school! The teachers are the best! Teachers really care about the kids and not just the test scores and it shows in everything that happens in the school! They provide extra assistance for children who need it and at the same time have pull out groups for the higher learners. This truly is a great school! We love, love, love it!

Madrone has all of the essentials for a great elementary school! It starts with the nicest and helpful office staff! Andrea (office manager) is wonderful and so kind to all of the children and parents. The principal is out playing basketball with the kids and I have seen kids give him hugs as they are leaving school. The teachers are amazing! The class sizes are smaller and the school is small, which makes for a nice community feel! The great thing about this school is that the community is built around wanting the best for the children!

If you are in the district and are deciding whether to stay in your district or transfer, here are some great reasons to stay!!!!!! This is a great school! Here are some things we like about Madrone: -teachers (amazing!) - garden program -tool box program (they treat each child as an individual and truly have the -child's best interest in mind~not just getting the test scores!) -junior great book program -band (for 4-6), but 3rd graders have song flutes -music with a real music teacher (who is incredible) -buddy program - match upper grade with lower grades to prevent bullying, -option for parent/teacher conferences twice a year, -science lab for all kids k-6th with a dedicated science teacher (she also does PE) -art docent program and dance docent -science fair where the entire school can participate -girls on the run

I'm a parent of a Kindergartener at this school and I am currently looking into alternative schools: charters, magnets, private. Although it seems this school is very good by public school standards, my husband and I are looking for a more enriching experience overall for our son. We don't think the No Child Left Behind program will serve our son well through his school years. Unfortunately, this is our neighborhood school and one we'd like to attend if only teachers had more say in curriculum and if testing was not such a large component of the schools and therefore, our childs', success.

My son seems to like it. He's in Kindergarten and we're new to the area so, we are still checking things out.

Parent involvement is great, and teachers are also good. Administration has difficulty keeping good teachers around. I don't like how teachers are being moved around every year, either to other schools, or a different grade level every year. Our STAR test scores went down significantly from 2004, which is very disappointing. I attribute that to the Principal's lack of leadership and focus.

This is a school with great teachers. My son is a bright, active child and he has thrived here. The teachers he has had have all been experienced, organized, supportive and have had excellent behavior management skills. The administration has created a positive school environment where the children's academic progress is supported. The parents are quite involved here. The PTA is always busy and productive. We are very happy with this school. I am a former elementary school teacher and I have a doctorate in education so you can rest assured, I watched carefully! This is a great school.

This school has a very high level of parent involvement. The music program is great. They offer many programs for the children, such as volleyball, basketball, science olympiad, odyssey of the mind, and of course, a yearly 'play.'
