It's not the greatest school, but it's not horrible either. The school has many gang banger wannabes, and 13-year-old kids who think they are Nortenos. I went to this school half a dozen years ago and whenever I pass by this school that's all I see coming out of the school. This school is not very diverse, as it's almost entirely made up of two ethnic groups, and equally. The test scores aren't anything to brag about, but they're better than Comstock and Cook's, lol.

Horrible administration. They talk to students like they are inmates. I have dealt with them as a parent and I watched off to the side as they speak to them with no respect whatsoever. I know this is a tough age but if you can't show respect how do you expect to get respect. The Prinicipal needs to to do some growing up himself. If you expect to get some kind of professional or personable office staff forget it. Only the one who is great to deal with is the Nurse. Terrible school and terrible scores. This school needs a complete overhaul

I went to this school, this is one of the best schools in Santa Rosa. Teachers are very helpful and the students are great. Not to mention the athletics are good to.

I love this because all the teachers rock!! I feel very comfortable coming to school everyday and I feel welcomed. I moved to Santa Rosa last year, so I didn't no anyone and I easily made friends. This school great for having fun and learning at the same time!!!!! I love Slater!!!!!!

I love Slater, most of the teachers are so helpful and caring. My favorite teachers had to be Mr.McClelland and Mrs.Anderson. Mr.Lea is the best principal ever, he gets to know everyone's name and remembers it through the whole two years your there! Overall Slater is a great school and I couldn't imagine myself in a different school. Can't wait for 8th grade that's for sure!

This school is great academically, but the kids here can be....cruel. But apparently that's how it is everywhere, and it happens all through life. So, anyways, if you try, and turn in all your assignments, 7th grade is easy. I will see how 8th grade is soon....

I love this school. Most teachers are great and fun. The principal is great and knows all of the names in the school in just a few weeks. Most teachers are nice and will be glad to help you but some teachers are not and seem to not want to help you. Overall this school has been great and fun.

Fabulous, caring staff and administration make you feel as though your kid is noticed and special despite large student body. The principal knows every student's name within weeks.

I have been extremely happy with this school and it's staff. My only complaint is that I wish parents could have more hands on in the classrooms but I understand the why not. The school says they need to learn to grow and this is the best time to break away. Hard for a parent to do ;)

My childs grades dropped dramatically at this school and yet her Standardized Test and other independent testing remains above average. Some teachers are exceptional and some should have been fired a long time ago. It has great potential!
