Katherine Elementary School

Katherine is a great school and both my children have learned alot while attending Katherine.The teachers couldnt be better and I recommend Katherine to all my friends who have kids getting ready to start Elementary School.

Sean Platt is a wonderful Principle. Katherine won the Quiz Bowl academic competition for all of SVUSD last year and is defending the title this year. Both of my children are designated GATE (gifted and talented education) and have excelled at Katherine Elementary School. It is a safe school with great teachers. My son graduated with the honor of the Presidents award for educational excellence last year. Thanks to all the staff and administration at Katherine for making it so great! -Nathan Apelbaum

Katherine is a wonderful school with an amazing PTA. The teachers all work well together and it's always a pleasant place to be. We also have great API scores!

Katherine Elementary is blessed to have a very motivated and energitic PTA. The teachers, PTA, and Principal all care so much and work together. They provide great music and art programs, after school enrichment, and events for the children and their families. They worked together last year to provide an updated computer network as well as 63 new computers for our students use. The school also has the Accelerated Reader program, to help with reading comprehension and motivation. This last year we got a new principal and he made every effort to get to know all of the students, he can even be found on the playground involved in their games. I have three children (a niece and a nephew) that I would not send to school anywhere else. This school is always working on how to make Katherine a great place to learn. Mother of three

I have a son in a 3rd/4th split and one in K. My eight year old has been there since first grade and we have been blessed with wonderful teachers each year. My 'K' baby is ready for 1st grade, thoroughly reading and knowing beyond what he should at this age for Math. Katherine has been a wonderful experience for these boys and for myself. My 3rd grader has been recommended for an enriched studies program which shows me that they are taking the time to try and put each child at the level they belong. The other kids, teachers and yard staff have been wonderful.
