The school has a caring and small town vibe which is what my family loves about it. We live in Sunol and our 3 kids went to Sunol Glen. Teachers are good and education standards are decent. However, Principal is incompetent and a bully. Everyone knows this including staff, parents and teachers. Though no one seems to be able to do anything about it.

Teachers, parents and kids work hard to make this school a good place despite the antics of the principal who should not be there.

Great teachers, parents and kids in this small school. However, the principal is unethical, mean, unprofessional and rules the teachers and parents with fear and threats. No one wants to talk about it but dig a bit below the surface and parents and teachers will tell you the truth about the principal. Many many many families have left because of her.

Sunol Glen is the best of the best in Elementary education. I have two children currently attending Sunol (one child has been there for 3 years) and Sunol truly is a hidden Bay Area gem! Small class size, incredible staff, strong leadership, great parent participation, tons of extracurricular activities, the list goes on and on. My son is main streamed but on the autism spectrum and he has done nothing but thrive in Sunol's extremely supportive, encouraging environment. Bullying is not tolerated in this school, diversity is encouraged and there is a strong emphasis on character development as well as academic achievement. We love Sunol Glen!!!!

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

A very caring group of professionals who seem to appreciate the small, enriching surroundings in Sunol.

8th graders are willing to 'risk a little cool' once in a while to spend time with little kids. Where else do you see this, besides in a family?

New leadership, along with the retirement of some very tired 'chair throwing' teachers has turned this sleepy little school into an emerging powerhouse. Look out Piedmont! Our district API is right behind you, and we have not had to sacrifice that small-school, extended family feeling. Rural 4-H kids and computer kids all come together to make this a very special school. So glad we found it!

The administration just loves kids! The fact that there is still mandatory art and music built into the school day is, now what we call, a privilege. And, people wonder why our scores are high. Thank to Sunol for teaching the whole child and there is an amazing team of teachers there. We're so lucky and grateful!!!!

happy friendly vibe, caring staff, sweet kids and fabulous arts and music dept. No tyrannical focus on testing either and yet has excellent scores.
