As a staff member at River Springs, I can vouch for the creativity and passion of the teachers who work there. They use innovative strategies to teach their students and focus on individual learning needs.
This is my son's first year with River Springs as a high school freshman and I have found great support from the Orange County site administration and faculty! We love our ES who is also very supportive. My only complaint or words of advise would be that new parents and students need thorough training on Moodle (on line syllabus) before starting classes. I taught myself and my son how to use it through sheer will!
I've been with River Springs for many years, even back when it was calle Eagles Peak. This school is going downhill and fast. I'm so disappointed. We keep enduring one fiasco after another and I think it's finally time to jump ship.
We attend the Hemet quest campus. I have to say that this would have been an amazing success if not for the massive enrollment. We were told there would be no more then 28 students per class and then there were 38 kindergarten and 60 second graders. This led to new hires to acomidate the kids and its just too many children for such a small campus. There is not enough supervision either. On the other hand this has made us parents rally together to support the school and lend a lot of help to the staff. Despite my many complaints and issues with the school the community that has developed is fantastic. I still choose this over public school.
This school is a great experience for children. In a time where the Arts and even everyday science is being cut out of the budget, this school provides these and so much more.
My son goes to Riversprings this will be his 2nd year there. He loves it. Smaller class rooms, with individual help if needed are just a couple of the great things about river springs. His teachers are in constant contact with me and there to answer any questions I have. The office staff is absolutely wonderful. We love Riversprings Charter.
I brought my student to Charter Springs Academy in Riverside and was highly disappointed. The teachers yell at the students virtually everyday. They do not teach very well and there is little to no communication with the parent. I believed I would still have a handle on the classwork and achievements, but it turned out to be about the same as public school. It would have been nice to be kept in the loop, INSTEAD OF BEING TRULY MORTIFIED BY THE GRADES WHEN THEY CAME IN THE MAIL! Now the grades are out and I find out mine and other students had no idea what to do in class.
My daughter attends the Murrieta River Springs site and we have nothing but high praise for the Montessori program! Children are able to work at their own pace and we definitely see the benefits of this type of individualized education. At first, I was leery of the 3 day school week and was unsure of how we'd handle the 2 homeschool days, but the teachers provide you with both the resources and flexibility to be successful. In addition, we appreciate the safe learning environment the small campus offers. The teachers seem enthusiastic & I'm looking forward to another year at River Springs in the fall.
I have been trying to find out more information regarding their homeschooling program. It has been incredibly difficult to get the right information from the people on the phone. My sister and I also had a very rude lady speak to us on the phone. She was acting like we were bothering her and gave us inaccurate information. I am very disappointed because the website looked great. We were trying to speak to the Temecula office location. I also decided to try to overlook the receptionist rude attitude and went on a school tour. During this, I heard another teacher speaking very rudely to a young elementary school student. I guess I will be looking for another school.
We are simply attempting to look into getting our daughter enrolled and have experienced nothing but flakiness at every turn. How do they even stay open? We began the process in DECEMBER to enroll our daughter for school beginning August 2011-2012. There have been instances when there is only one person at the entire school who is trained or has access to what would seem to be very simple information ("What programs are available?" "Can you check the status of my child's application?") So if that particular person quits, the school grinds to a halt? You couldn't run a business this way (at least not one you wanted to stay open more than a few weeks.) We have hit several impasses waiting WEEKS (literally) for phone calls or emails to be returned. We waited three months with multiple calls and emails weekly just to schedule a campus tour. Now once again it's the daily phone calls to some phantom person who is apparently the only person in the entire school who can tell me if she's enrolled or not. I am about to give up before even starting because my blood pressure might not be able to take having her attend a school like this.
