We have had our daughter enrolled Ascension Lutheran's preschool program for two years. We LOVE this school! The foundation of Christianity here is critical to us in our daughter's education. The school staff are always warm, friendly, and helpful with adults as well as with all the children. They provide a very stimulating and fun program that has made my daughter blossom. We have been impressed by the field trips, activities, and daily investment teachers make in their students. Best of all is the emphasis on Christian values and beliefs with weekly chapel and daily reinforcement through shared stories and activities. We have previously enrolled in other preschools in Torrance and hands down, Ascension Lutheran is the BEST.

After almost three years at the school, it is clear that the things that are frustrating about the school will never change. I have actually written a countdown of the days on my calendar. Pros= small student body, family like atmosphere but Cons= cliques among students and faculty, no academic challenges, lack of extracurricular stimulation for the younger children, after care is a joke. Basically you can talk until you turn blue with these administrators, but most of the students are their children or grandchildren and they could really care less what you outsiders think.

I have been a parent at Ascension Lutheran school for over 17 years. All of my children have been well educated, and all are very loving, caring individuals. My children are safe here, and well loved by all teachers and staff members. It's like a home away from home! There are wonderful family activities put on by our Parent Teacher League! Most importantly, the are taught to love their Lord.

December 20, 2010 I have taught in the public school system for many years. The option to allow my son to grow and be discilpined in the Christian faith was a welcome relief to the public schools educational system. Ascension Lutheran school is a warm school that teaches the basics and more. Implementing religious seeds and structure to live by, community and safety are paramount. My son has 13 students in his class. His teacher is a seasoned teacher who has the time to focus on his education without the myriad of problems many public school teachers must address. The school offers a variety of after school programs. The music, math, and sports programs are fantastic!

My son and daughter were students at ASL school for many years. It was at one time an excellent school, however there has never been a strong leader for this school. I found there to be preferential treatment for certain students. The children of the parents in the clique were treated quite differently than the rest. It was a tough decision, but I pulled my kids and sent them elsewhere. No regrets!

I can't even begin to express how happy my entire family is with this school. The administrators are complete professionals. My son is in PreK and to have an entire curriculum focused around play was a new concept for me, but I can clearly see the benefits and results. My 4 yr old can read, not because he's forced to 'hit the books', but because he tells stories and plays games. I am totally converted to this way of learning and I can't tell enough people about how great it is. Ascension is buzzing with activity every week and it's totally worth the money!

This school not like other private school mostly concern about money 'donation'. They run like a family, warm, cares and excellence academic program. My girl attend this school in kindergarden, I was surprised that she has great improvment on academic and enjoyed school.
