I think this school rocks. Not only are they a family originated school, this school cares about it kids. Free morning breakfast, carnivals, Christmas candy. I am in WOW of this school. The teachers are OVER and BEYOND friendly and awesome towards the kids. The principle is just the best there is. I just wished that it was K - 12th grade. This is one school.. I don't want to give up.. its that wonderful!

I have attended buena vista since the 4th grade and am now in the eighth. From the academics to the activities, the school knows what they are doing. I am proud to say that i drive twelve and a half minutes to get to school everyday!

I have four children currently attending Buena Vista School. My High Schooler also attended this school, and a foster daughter with prior educational problems. My foster daughter, now has an opportunity for college that she would not have had had she continued in Tulare City Schools skating through on her IEP. The education that all of my children have received at Buena Vista has been according to their personal progress and they each have been challenged to go further than is expected for their grade levels. I have two children with ADHD. Because the classes are small in student numbers and there are two teachers for every classroom, my children have had the patience they require from their teachers and they are both excelling despite the attention deficit challanges. The school Principal is very attentative to ALL of the students and knows them all by name.

Hi I just moved here after going to Palo Verde from K-6th grade. My mom teaches there the kids are great and it's a small school so it's like a tight knit community and the teachers are great.

Buena Vista is a very good school. I have one child that has attended since Kindergarden. I have never had any problems with any of the teachers nor the principal. In fact, they have gone above and beyond for my child because he has learning disabilities. They have all been wonderful, and very caring. Even the students are not judgemental. Parents are very envolved, and I don't mind having to drive about 7 miles out of town so that my child can attend. It's worth it. My child has come along way, and is still doing very well despite his disabilities. Thank you Buena Vista. Keep up the good work!

Reading the only review about BV, written in 2004, I can clearly state that the person writing the review must have had a personal issue with the school. Buena Vista is, and has always been at the top when it comes to test scores, and acedemics in general. It is a small, rural school with many ESL students, and yet these students go on to high school at least on a par or above their peers from surrounding rural schools, as well as city schools. Buena Vista is a 'school of choice', meaning it can accept out of district students, if room is availible. There is a waiting list, and 67% of students are from out of district. Why would people travel outside their district, some many miles, to attend? A family atmosphere, small classroom size, and a caring staff all contribute to a clean, safe, and highly-regarded acedemic standard.

Buena Vista is a small school with good intentions, such as family atmosphere, hard work and character building. The school however is clearly mismanaged. The teachers are the lowest paided in the county and retention is a joke compared to other schools. The principal is in a classroom and has no time for staff development or leadership roles. The vision for this school is blank on their website, and the way the school is run shows that it is blank in the minds of the board and the administration.
