My daughter (2yrs) just started in their daycare center, going into her 3rd week. Obviously, she cried the first day she was there, but by the third day, I kissed her and left without her pulling my me back, and no tears since. I saw a happiness I did not see when she was at a previous daycare. Even after a year and a half at the other daycare she would still cry whenever I leave. And to even think I was upset at having to start her at new daycare, because being 2 years old it would be hard for her to adjust. But the loving staff at IFL took care of her well and now I am comfortable placing her there.
My children have attended Immanuel First Lutheran since 1996. My son has now moved on to Bishop Amat, accepted, and tested in at 10th and 11th grade school levels. He has been in honor classes, and is taking AP classes. My 1st, 4th, and 5th graders do very well, and their Iowa test scores are @ 90% and abovd. If you want quality schooling, education, family atmosphere, and definately more inexpensive daycare. Please visit IFL, the staff is just wonderful. My children feel it is home away from home, and to this day former students visit IFL. If you compare $70.00 a week in public school daycare, you save with private school due to small classes, and great education. Think about it, you are paying public school prices just for afterschool daycare.

My daughter is in middle school, has been going to IFL since preschool. IFL gives her the opportunity to grow stronger physically and spiritually. It provides a well-rounded education to prepare a child to be a fine young man or woman for the society. The academic standards reflected on her Iowa test - average above 90%. If a student doesn t understand a concept, the teacher always stops and explains it. Principal and teachers know most of the students and they are treated as a family. Day Care are well run with love and discipline, parents always have peace of mind. I recall how the preschool teacher comforted my daughter for her first nap. I can t speak well enough about IFL. This statement shows how we appreciate it. The whole family agrees that we will send our grandchildren to this wonderful school in the future . We Love IFL.
Most schools post their weekly academic schedules online. and if you check Immanuels and other schools, you will actually find that they do correspond. I find the staff at Immanuel to be loving, supportive and caring.
If you are looking for small classes this is the school for you. But academically they are way far behind! There's a lot of tuition free school around west covina that are ahead of their academics.
I was very unhappy with Immanuel. It is a smaller school that seems to lack the educational emphasis. Another concern was the class sizes getting smaller and smaller as grade levels increased. This seemed to me to be a sign that the school was having trouble retaining students. When we encountered problems I then realized we needed to switch to ensure our child was getting a good education. We ultimately switched to another local private school (West Covina Christian) and was shocked to see how far ahead their curriculum was over Immanuel.
I like this school very much because the family atmosphere, small class sizes and the extra attention my children receive from their teachers. I feel that my children are in a safe environment and I do not worry about their safety while they are at school.
An absolute great place to educate your children. My children have been attending there for two years and I have nothing but positive feedback. Most importantly my children are happy, safe and their test scores are the real proof that the school is successful. There is no other school that could rival Immanuel First Lutheran in the San Gabriel Valley. There is so much that is special there that this short review can not do the school justice. If you want the best for your children, visit the school, meet the teachers and staff, and see for yourself.
My three children attend Immanuel First Lutheran and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great education for your children. My son has scored above average on all of his annual Princeton review tests. My daughter will enter First grade and has been reading since the middle of kindergarten. If you want education, family environment, wonderful teachers who care, and parents that are involved, this is definitely the school.
