Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

office staff is very helpful especially Margie and Sherrie they are always going to extra mile for parents as long as they are shown respect and the parent is not complaining all the time. (that would get old to anyone) I love the office staff and am very grateful for all their support! . Mr. Kent a teacher at this school is simply amazing and always concerned about the students needs. Mr. Thomas is a special day aid also a kinder aid and he has physical handicaps but that doesn't slow him down or change his love and much appreciated help for the kids! they have many opportunities for parent involvement but the parent has to choose to involve themselves. I am very happy with this school and would recommend it to anyone..

Beware of this school. The office staff are so incredibly rude to parents if they have had to discuss problems with the principle about teachers. They act like a high school clique, similar to what another reviewer said. I know that there are some parents that don't measure up but not every parent that has an issue with their child's education or treatment in class is a deadbeat. The principal does nothing to help the situation and sides with staff. Kids aren't perfect, mine certainly aren't but they don't deserve to be belittled and called liars. If only there were cameras in the classrooms! Teachers would at least have to pretend that they like kids. I've only had an issue with one teacher and her unprofessional behavior of belittling one of my kids in front of the class and spreading falsehood. But that one person made the whole experience very negative for me and my family. The office staff's behavior was the nail in the coffin. Most LEUSD schools are a hostile environment for children and a thriving one for sociopathic adults. AVOID this school. Move out of the district. My three children are much happier now and thriving in Temecula schools. The teachers are amazing.

Why would a principle be so heartless I once thought she was nice but now I have seeing her true colors no respect for parents or for her staff. Pressures the teachers to move kids out programs just to look good.

This school hasn't changed their ways!! The office staff is rude and makes excuses for the principal Mrs. Chandler. She is unresponsive to the parents request for leadership and does nothing about the continued bully situation. This will be our final year here (thank goodness) Wishing the district would monitor this school and principal better :(

This is our 2nd year at RRE. So far, we have been very pleased with the school. My children have all had teachers who genuinely do their best to keep the kids' best interests in the forefront and to keep everyone on curriculum while paying their own money to add extra arts, etc. into their learning experience. My children do not struggle academically, so I can't speak to a lot of the other criticisms I've read here on the site regarding that issue, but I do agree that the current principal is abrupt, unfriendly and "all business" which leads to good test scores, perhaps, but which also gives the school a negative vibe. As parents at this (or ANY other school), it our job to supplement what the school can't teach due to time, budget or other limitations. Also remember that teachers, administration and other staff are people, and one negative experience with one person does NOT a bad school make. We love RRE and will be here for the duration of our 4 children's elementary careers.

The office staff were nice after the fact of me putting my foot down but they still act as it's an inconvenience when a parent comes into the office. The principal is rude, and very unprofessional. My daughters kindergarten teacher sure loves drama and likes to talk about other parents so be careful! I also wish they had more activities in the school/classrooms, as P.E., music, art, and science. My children miss out at this school.

I have a genuine love for RRE. My family felt very welcomed right away. However, I'm very disappointed at the lack of quality instruction, educational materials/supplies, and the lack of attention to fine/performing arts. My children are missing a great deal educationally by attending this school. They will not receive any "real" art or musical instruction. The "rotation" for arts is a joke. More importantly, the curriculum is dry and very unimaginative. The children receive "busy work" much of the day. The school is completely devoid of the "spark" and fun one expects at a school with very young children! As much I love the friendly staff...that's not enough to keep my family there. After about 16 months of attending RRE...we're transferring out of there!

We have been at the school for about 2 years and have to agree with the poster on Oct. 25, 2010. As a parent with a background of more than 10 years in elementary education, I have been very disappointed with the school. While I believe that most of teachers and support staff are operating with the best interest of the students at heart, I don't feel that way with the principal. The experience I personally had with her left me feeling that she conducted herself in an unprofessional and bias manner. There is a very clear divide between the staff and the administration which is reflected within the day to day operations of the school. The district would do well to find a better match to administrate this school.

Agree 100% to whoever posted the review on Aug. 10, 2009. The school has gone thru 3 principals already. Sad to say hopefully there will be a 4th principal and whole new office staff. I cant stand the principal, she is such a rude rude lady. Makes me sick. And since no names can be mentioned, just look at my post, this is dated Oct. 2010...thats the principal I am talking about.

This is our second year at the school and we love it. I have twins in second grade. We came to this school at the start of 1st grade. While my children were in the top of their class in their previous school K class they started out in the middle or slightly below in 1st grade. I noticed right away the higher standards. The academic program was challenging and my kids were back at the top of their class again by the end of 1st grade. The school offers lots of opportunity for learing and the kids were in a special Arts program. I like it that the kids rotate classes in the afternoon and get to learn from different teachers. I am very impressed that the school has managed to keep the class sizes small as most districts have not been so lucky due to CA budget problems.

I have 2 children that are in attendance at Ronald Reagan Elementary. They both enjoy the safe environment and compassionate teachers that they have had so far. I appreciate the quality of education that my children are getting at the school. The environment at Ronald Reagan is friendly and they are focused on academic achievement. The test scores have made impressive gains since the opening of the school. I feel confident that my children will receive a quality education at this school.

I am very pleased with the changes that I have seen occurring at Ronald Reagan Elementary over the last three years. The teachers seem to be happy, friendly, and genuinely concerned about the welfare and education of their students. This year seemed to have started even more smoothly than years past. I am looking forward to my two children having an excellent year, as they did last year. I would recommend Ronald Reagan to any parent.

I have had 3 kids at this school since the year it opened and have been very involved at the school. Of course there was some chaos at the beginning being a new school but here is the bottom line for me. I have one child that has been there since 2nd grade and was invited to the excelerated program in middle school for 6th grade and is doing great there. I have one child that went into kindergarten last year that I was terribly worried about because he started out way behind the other kids and is now reading at the top of his class in first grade. My daugher is also excelling in her class. At every school you will find a teacher or 2 that you are not happy with. This is an amazing school and I am happy to have my kids there!

This is our 2nd year at RRE, the first year was a chaotic mess and I was very concerned for my children's education. However once I began to communicate with their teacher's it all changed. This year the kids are in 2nd and 1st it is the principals 2nd year and I have already seen a difference in the school! A routine is set rules have been laid out and people are following them. I was given the teacher's requested and the kids are doing well. The teacher's at RRE are wonderful it was purely administrative were the school becomes shuffled, looking forward to having a great year!

One of my children attended RRE for one year, 2005-06; my second child attended four years, 2005-09; and my third child attended two years, 2007-09. This school never fails to disappoint. We have been very unhappy here. There are some great teachers who are truly committed to their students, but they cannot compensate for the other shortcomings of RRE. Since the school opened in August 2005, there have been three different principals. The office staff is unfriendly, the parents are unhappy and the atmosphere is generally hostile. This school is a chaotic mess in dire need of an intervention. Sadly, with the housing market as it is, most parents have no choice but to put up with RRE or homeschool their children. Hate, hate hate this school!!

I have been in this school for 3 years,I have nothing positive to say about it. No support to slowers student what so ever. I have to reteach my child everything at home all over again, so that she will pass by...I would not recommend this school to any working parent.

If you look at the dates on the reviews you will see the school is getting worse every year. This year being the worst. Friendly office staff, some good teachers but the principal shuffle that the school has every year has led to choas, no discipline, no rules, no follow through on issues. This school is out of control and its due to its lack of leadership beginning with the School Board right down to the Prinicipal. I don't recommend this school to anyone. My children have attended this school since its opening and each year it gets worse. I am also a very involved parent and have spent a lot of time on campus so I'm not just on the outside looking in.

This school is a mess. The principal refuses to take time to discuss anything with parents and will not discipline students who are violent. I don't suggest moving into this district they care nothing about the education of young minds.

This is our son's 2nd year at Ronald Reagan. Yes, there have been administration changes, however our son has the same teacher he had last year. Our son's teacher communicates with us very well via phone calls and emails. I love the fact that I can email her and she responds within a day. Ronald Reagan is not our sons 'home school' it is the school we 'chose' for our son. And ... we are very happy with our choice, as is our son! The staff seems very inviting, and you know what I mean because some school staff seem very 'off putting' to an unfamiliar face. Everyone seems very friendly. Safety seems to be a big priority. Recorded phone calls from the principal remind us parents of things are often rec'd, which is very helptul. I continue to drive 5 miles each way every day to take our son!

This started out as a great school but has degraded into a chaotic mess. Some of the teachers are excellent but are pushed beyond reason with large class sizes. The principals have gone from OK to 'out of touch' but I'm not sure anyone could really keep up with the influx of the absorbed school. My child's teacher seems like she's 'just getting by' rather than being involved. I don't think she cares much about my child's success or failure. I'm going to be taking my kids to a charter school next year.

This year is my child's 3rd year attending RRE, disappointment seems growing every year. The other parent was right, it's over crowded, not enough communication between parents and teachers, reminders/flyers from school is not sufficient. I'm really worried about my child education.

My child is starting Kinderarten this year, & so far I'm disappointed. I feel a lack of communication between the school & parents, and my son is not enjoying school. I've been following RRE's growth in the newspapers & by asking neighbors for a few years & had hoped the initial bugs would be worked out by now. A new school has so much potential...but it is already overcrowded, parking is a mess, the website is not kept up, our teacher rarely sends info home (I swiped the aftn teachers newsletter & learned that Back-to-School night is day after tomorrow!) It seems like there is a big experiment going with the different methods of teaching & it may be at the expense of the students. How are these kids mainstreaming into 'regular' teaching method classrooms later on? I'm very concerned for my sons education.

This school is wonderful! I am always concerned about all of the subjects and experiences that school districts have been eliminating (across the nation). This school has such a desire to focus on each child, individually and to encourage a very hands-on approach to learning. And, they don't cater to the 'teach to test' mentallity that is so prevalent in my previous district. I was initially apprehensive about the program that makes this school a magnet, but I asked a lot of questions and observed the classrooms extensively. I don't know why all schools don't teach this way!!! My child loves RRE and I am so impressed at how much the teachers encourage the kids to explore, question, and develop a level of higher thinking that goes beyond what any test can evaluate. My child got so much exposure to the subjects that have all but disappeared in schools. Love it!

This school was a diaster for my son and our family. For us it did not live up to the hype. We were very excited when it opened, but soon became frustrated and worried. Our son fell behind and got lost in the system of this school. I do not feel there was enough support or cooporation from the staff, as there should have been. My son was struggling and when I brought this to the schools attention, we were repeatedly dismissed. My son became discouraged and doubted his abilities while at Reagan. I do know this to be a fact, because since we have transferred him he has become the scholar he once was and has excelled. We did attend the school when it first opened and I do hope that it has become better organized since.

Ronald Reagan elementary for me is outstanding. I am a volunteer parent and I am able to follow my son's curriculum. At a young age and not attended pre-school I was surprised with his development. When he started, he cannot even spell the word 'dog' but now he is able to read. He enjoys going to school so much that he did not want to miss a day. His teachers were awesome. The principal and staff were great. I am very pleased that we chose this school and I would recommend it to anyone who wants the best for their children.

Ronald Reagan Elementary is an amazing school. My husband and I moved here a year ago and had to attend another school due to RRE being impacted..then to be able to start at this school this year was such a huge change. The parent involvement is amazing. It seems as though we all as parents are wanting the same thing for our children and understand that our involvement is so important in the development of our childrens education. The teachers and staff here are wonderful. The hands on learning in art, music, science and other areas is great. It really helps the children to comprehend the work. I love the instructional approach at this school. Students are encuraged to ask questions and seek the answers instead of just being told right away. I give Ronald Reagan a '10'...

Reagan elementary is an outstanding school with outstanding faculty! From the custodian to the office, the kitchen, the administration, aides and teachers - children are learning everywhere you turn! My kindergartener is reading, a year ahead of the 'norm' for his age! My 3rd grader can clearly articulate what they do at school, why and how! She doesn't know everything but she knows how to find out what she does want to know! Isn't that what's important? Yes, the school is busy and noisy - with children working, exploring, thinking, communicating, working with eachother. I love everything about this school!

I volunteer in my daughter's classroom at Ronald Reagan Elementary. I see most of the staff on a daily basis. I can honestly tell you that every employee at this school really loves their job. They truely care about every student. The Principle Mr. Richter is outstanding. Their method of teaching is so inspiring. I have seen so many students who in a traditional school would be overlooked absolutely blossom. I tell everyone I come into contact with how wonderful this school is. I can't sing them enough praises. The students love their teachers, the teachers love their students. They make the kids think and make learning fun. If we had more schools like this one we would have a much brighter future.

Students are learning by internalizing their subjects. It's a hands on approach that my child comes home understanding what they have done. They get up every morning excited about what they are going to do at school that day. That's worth a million.

This is a hands-on school. Research classes and teachers before enrolling in this school. Their lack of structure and control may work for some children but for most it is chaotic. Kids enjoy it, no boring worksheets but I, as a parent, use this school as a socializing network and homeschool in the evenings and weekends. I've heard that the constructivist theory works but it is yet to impress me. Teachers care, office staff is great but the education my children are receiving is disappointing. I would have never moved to this area if we had known what we know now about the school.
