The office staff such as receptionists are out standing. But dont feel like they handle situations in a professional manner. There is to mant behavioral problems in the 6th grade classroom and nothing is being addressed.
This school is horrible, too much bullying, no commuication with teachers, the principal never listens to what you have to say as a parent. He judges the students without even looking at the situation.
My son has a case of severe ADHD. This is not an excuse and we are trying to get him to understand this as well. While we would like for the teachers to be more open about his behavioral issues, I can say that I have seen amazing growth in his performance. In just a few months at this school, his reading test scores, his math and writing have all improved. I do love this school and I truly think this was the best decision for him.
We moved across town and were previously attending West Woods Elementary. I was worried because of the over all lower test scores than our previous school, but have been very impressed. My daughter struggled with reading at West Woods, yet her teacher at Parr worked miracles with her. She now reads well above grade level. The teachers love what they do there. Other note worthy attributes: preschool, all day free Kindergarten, free breakfast, ethnic diversity, small community, personable faculty, well behaved children, and well kept grounds. I have grown to appreciate Parr, immensely.
Wow. The previous review (from a former student) is a prime example of the quality of education at this underperforming school. Their short post has no fewer than eleven(!) grammatical mistakes, and their main reason for liking the school is because people at the school are "nice to each other". What about high test scores or challenging academic programs? This school has neither.
