Leadership, Questionable at best. I find it hard to believe this school gets any positive ratings. The first thing you see in red is a 1/10 test score, and 1/10 student growth. For the last three years this school has continually gone down hill missing becoming a turn-around school by a point or two last year. The current leadership almost seems determined to ruin this school by giving only negative feedback to teachers and not implementing or distributing any plan to improve. Add that to allegations of teachers abusive students that go un-investigated violations of student/teachers rights and total disregard for safety policies and standards. This is definitely not a five star school. I see some of the rating were given in 2005 and as I understand it back then it may have been, but under the current administration 1 is being generous. Any good leader knows you don't run everyone in your team off as fast as you can because you cant win the game alone, but thats exactly what this administration is doing. Someone should look much closer at this school, look at the climate surveys, talk to the teachers and students. The teachers in this school are scared.
My children go to Boston Elementary School. They have been going since the were in Kindergarten and now my first child is 10 in the 5th grade and my 2nd child is 7 and in the 1st grade! This school goes way past the expectations for student achievement. The staff is friendly, and they show much interest in your child's learning!
