Calhan is a small school working hard to keep up with larger schools. The principal is a member of the community and works hard for the students, parents and teachers. The Colorado Writing Project is once example of what they have offered to their teachers. The computer teacher (she covers all grades) has also offered a computer class sponsored by INTEL. I have had my child in other schools, but have felt she was in a great school here. There are teachers, support staff (nurse, secretaries, aides and high school literacy aides) and a principal who work hard to support my child's learning.
Calhan Elementary offers a second rate education for your child. If you are looking for a quality education with diverse experiences you will not receive it at Calhan Elementary. The leadership of the Principal is lacking.
