My son has attended Remingington since kindergarden. He has had some very good teachers over the years, but unfortuatly this is not one of those years. He has been strugling all years long and is not getting the extra help he needs. She has told me twice that she was going to start something new with him and after 3 months it still hasn't happend. I asked if there was a tutor availible to work with him after school (that I was willing to pay for). She said she would check and see if anyone was interested. I waited 2 weeks and never got a response so I asked again and still never got a response. I went out and found a tutor on my own. The tutor has left a phone message with his teacher as to what specifially he needs the most help with. Its only been a couple days, but she hasn't heard back from her. I am also not a big fan of the school district. They have way too many scheduled days off during the year for things like teacher in service days??? I am also not a big fan of the principal. He seems to be quite arogant. There are some very good teachers here, but unfortunatly we didn't get one this year and my son is paying the price.
I absolutely love this school! My kids were fortunate to have Ms. Price and Ms Reading as first graders and I have to say that they are just phenomenal. We did not have such great experiences when they were at a Core Knowledge school the prior year, which is rated as one of the top schools in Colorado. Both of my kids, especially my son struggled and it got to a point where the school's hostile environment was hurting him emotionally and academically. Fast forward to Remington; both of my children have absolutely flourished and grown into confident little children, which is a product of the supportive environment that Remington gave them. With the school's support, my kids have overcome their academic struggles caused by inadequate instruction and hostile environment at the previous "top notch" school. If I can help it, I would love my kids to attend this school until they move on to middle school.
I agree with the review below. My children love their teachers. And academically they are doing great. But the office staff is appalling really. There are 2 women. The one with long blonde hair is so nice. The one with short dark hair is horrible. I get super uncomfortable having to go to the office to drop something off for children, or to even ask a question. She is terribly rude.. So, I give 3 stars. Someone really has to do something about this issue. Other parents and students say the same..
My daughter goes to this school. She loves her teacher. Her teacher is awesome and I have nothing but positive comments about her. I give this school 3 stars because the staff in the office could learn a thing or two about customer service. They are not very welcoming, even the principal! They are very snotty especially the woman that works the front desk. She acts like she owns the school and makes you feel like you're the one (her customer) who is supposed to give her the respect she deserves. They especially treat you a lot worst when you are not from their precious district. Please!
This school is amazing!!! My kids have been going to this school since they were in kindergarten. My daughter now in 5th grade and my son in 2nd. I have not met a person at the school that didn't truely care about the students. They focus on helping parents build character. Thanks Remington for the wonderful experience!
Both of my kiddos have been at this school since Kindergarten and we will stay with this school until we HAVE to move on. We love Remington! From the principal all the way to the custodians, you couldn't find a more caring group of people. The teachers are absolutely amazing. I volunteer at the school quite a bit and have had the pleasure of getting to know alot of them. They truly care about the kiddos and try hard to encourage them to be successful at their own levels. I have a kiddo who struggles with ADD and every one of his teachers (he's now in 4th grade) have been fantastic at working with me on strategies for his success. What a wonderful feeling for me and my kiddo.
I LOVE this school!! Both of my kids attended kindergarten through 2nd and 4th grade. The staff was great but the teachers make this school awesome!! We got to know each and every teacher our kids had and you could tell they loved what they did and cared about the best interest of all the kids! We moved but if I could have taken the teachers with me, I would have!!
I have had children in this school since 2003 and I highly recommend this school to anyone. My oldest went from 2nd through 5th grade here, and I now have twins in the 2nd grade. My twins started here in 1st grade because the only year Remington did not have full day Kindergarten was the year they attended. We put them in a private Kindergarten and they were very behind in Reading when they started 1st grade. When they started 1st grade they were reading at the four months of Kindergarten level. Their teacher at Remington though was great. They are both now in 2nd grade and at the beginning of their 2nd grade year they were reading at the 4th grade level! The school has a great PTA, and is very open and receptive to parents.
My son is in his 2nd year at Remington. We love it. He's been at 2 other elementary schools including Ridgeview and Remington is by far the best. The teachers are awesome!
My son is in kindergarten and we have had a great first year of public schools at Remington. His teacher, Mrs. Reading, is top notch. She has 23 students for only 3 hours per day yet she takes the time to get to know each student and his/her needs. She sends home frequent progress reports so you really know how your child is doing and what areas he needs to work harder. She is always available when parents have questions or concerns. The parent volunteer rate is very high. It makes the school feel like a family. The PTA is really active and plans many fun and educational activities for parents and students. We are blessed to have such a quality neighborhood school that there is no need to drive anywhere else.
I have a son who has attended Remmington Elementary Since December 2004. He is in the 1st grade and has had a difficult time transitioning from the Florida School system. His teacher Mrs. Godwin has down a fantastic job intigrating him into the classroom and helping him enhance his skills. I highly recommend Mrs. Godwin as a 1st grade teacher especially if you have a child that is struggling to keep up. Thank You--Mrs. Godwin for helping Conner have a successful year.
I have 2 boys that have attended Remington and with one still in the 3rd grade and one has moved on to middle school I can say that I have several years of experience with this school. I have been extremely pleased overall. Their lesson plans are great! They have a S.O.A.R program to challenged students that need it and tutors for those that need help. Their saftey standards are great! They resolve problems in a fair and efficient manner. They've always treated my children as a person and not as a number. I highly reccomend this school!
