It is an incredibly open-minded and accepting environment which promotes students to take responsibility for their own learning and to help others. The teachers are passionate about connecting their subjects to the artistic passions of the students.

It's wonderful that DSA has managed to get so many kids so passionate about culture and the arts. Everyone I know is intelligent and driven, and just happy to be at school. I don't know where else that kind of atmosphere exists.

I love DSA because it is extremely well-organized, communicates very well with parents, and, most importantly has a curriculum and staff, teachers and admin alike, who are obviously inspiring our 6th Grader who is blossoming and LOVES going to school.

Denver School of the Arts has been successful in creating a 'safe', creative environment for young adults to discover who they are. During this process DSA allows them the chance to be themselves everyday. It is amazing and my chilren and entire family has been 'changed for good.'

Great learning environment! The Stagecraft and Design curriculum in particular provides my son with a unique program perfectly suited to his inclination for hands-on construction and design that is simply unavailable elsewhere. The staff shines, too!

last year, our daughter entered DSA in 7th grade. She didn't know a single student and we were a little concerned that she would not be happy there. A year later, you couldn't get her to change schools for anything!

What an amazing school for young students to grow in the arts. The students are all focused and have big plans for the future. It seems every student does so well in their academics because there are student, faculty and parents who all are very supportive in the DSA community.

My daughter goes to DSA in the creative writing program. I've never seen a teenager as happy and excited about school as she is. In addition to offering an environment that fosters the students' various artistic talents, it also has excellent academics and a supportive community.

Denver School of the Arts is the Juilliard of the west. This school has kept our son engaged and interested throughout middle and high school. The academics are top-notch, and there is still time for arts activities for at least two periods per day. It's a warm loving place full of dedication to kids, arts and education.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons.
