We have been at this school going on 2 years now and I cannot imagine moving anywhere else. The children are polite, the parents are friendly and the teachers are wonderful. We have already established friendships I know will last a life time. My daughter is reading and writing well above her grade level, thanks to her Kindergarten teacher. I love it here!

I have been very disappointed overall with this school. The first thing I noticed was the cold feeling when I went into the front office. Just one person was friendly and warm. Since that time it has continued to have the same feeling. The principle does not respond to my e-mail concerns with any direct communication back to me. My son says she looks unhappy and doesn't respond when kids say Hello to her. However, my son doesn't want to leave his friends so I let it be. But if you are looking for a warm, inviting school, this is NOT the one to choose. Different leadership would likely change this.

Our homeschool is Foothills but the experience there was awful. My daughter has been at Green Mtn. for 2nd and 3rd grade and is in the special needs program (just wonderful) and mainstreamed into 3rd grade. I'm so pleased with this school the difference the staff has made in my daughter's life.

I couldn't be happier with this school! My daughter is in 1st grade and I feel like they know her both personally and academically. The teachers and leadership are always on the cutting edge of education. I am continually impressed with the hard work and motivation of the staff!

The school has greatly improved scores in all areas of CSAP. Class sizes are great this year (08 - 09) although that will change for all Jeffco Schools as the mill levy failed at the last election. The teachers are all doing a great job and are open communicating our children's needs and progress.

The leadership at this school is terrible. I am not impressed with many of the staff members. I spend a lot of time teaching my child at home because at this school there is very little progress. I have a background in education, and this school's lack of direction scares me. I will be enrolling my son at another school.

The e-mail communication with my daughter's 2nd grade teacher, has been a great way for me to verify information and exchange ideas to help advance my daughters academic success.

Green Mountain has been our choice school for 2 years. Our son's art talent was recognized in kindergarden by both his teacher as well as his principal. He is in first grade this year and he is absolutely thriving in all academic areas. The special ed program is great and we love the diversity and feeling of family in this school.

I also agree with the previous post regarding the math curriculum, and the lack of patience many of the teachers have.

While the staff is friendly, the class sizes are large this year 24/2nd grade, and 36/5th. There is alot of staff transition, they don't seem to keep teachers in for long-though there are a few that have been there awhile & we love them. The math curriculum is terrible, and the kids are struggling with it as the test scores indicate.
