My son is in 9th grade at LHS and LOVES it! He has had a wonderful year so far academically, socially, and athletically. They have everything at this school, where this year my son is in all the honors classes and actually loves the challenge they bring! As a parent I have been very impressed with the upgrades that have taken place to the physical part of the school, but have been even more impressed with the teachers and administration because they have gone out of their way to make the kids "enjoy" school.
Longmont High School is a great school with an outstanding staff and faculty. My child open enrolled at LHS (instead of Silver Creek which is closer) and I have never been happier with the level of education she is receiving. All of the faculty is wonderful but the Math and Science departments are phenomenal. Longmont High is an exceptional school.
I am very impressed with the classes they offer. Everything from the Special ed. to the child ready to go into Harvard!
I just graduated from Longmont High School recently, and I must say that it is by far one of the best schools around. The Facilty are very dedicated to the students and the success of the school as a whole. The advanced academic programs really prepare the students for college and future success and the overall size of the schools AP is unrivaled. The school also supports and encourages students to get involved in extracirrcular activities. There is a large variety of clubs to get involved in as well, allowing for every student to have a niche. By far Longmont High School is one of the best well rounded High Schools in Longmont, and I feel that the school has really influenced my life and has taught me some very good life lessoons for my future.
I'm currently a student and I must say that while the facility is starting to show its age, the faculty of Longmont High is unrivaled. I have run into only one teacher who I could not come to respect. The teachers on the whole, however, are the primary reason it is an amazing place to get an educcation.
I was not a parent, but a student attending this school, and I absolutely hated it. The funding is pathetic, much like all local schools. The teachers, however, aren't half bad for the most part, but there are always a few rotten ones. But the reason that I hated this school was because of the other students. Put your children in a smaller school, trust me.
4 of my kids attended Longmont High. It is quite possibly one of the best schools I have herd of. It is a friendly and warm learning environment, because of its stability and cosistency towards academics. Many of this high schools sports programs take it to state. Art programs and music programs are unrivled. They are excellent.
I am not a parent but I did attend Longmont High School. I also attended a high school in South Bend, Indiana. From experience i can say that Longmont High School is an absolutely wonderful high school. The teachers really connect with the students. They try to relate to and understand where the students are coming from. They actually care whether you are learning the material, not just memorizing it.
