I really like all the teachers that my children have had while attending Johnson. They have all been very supportive and my children have learned through their instruction. I think the staff is great and their seems to be as much parent involvement as the parent wants. I do not like that I call the school and the lady that answers the phone does not speak english.
I feel that the teachers did not sufficiently challenge my son in 1st grade. He would come home and complain that school was boring and he didn't want to go. He was in the high reading group but would come home with reading homework and projects that were way too easy for him. The school is not supportive of parent involvement and is very disorganized.
mychidren have been going here for years and they love it and I love it ,go here!
My son will be in first grade this year, and he really learned a lot last year. So far I have found the teachers to be very supportive of both student and parents, but I have been treated poorly by the front office on several occasions. They do not like it when the parents have questions about anything, and will treat you like you are stupid when you do ask questions. I'm sorry, but some of us are doing the best we can with work, our children's schooling, and our own schooling (college), and get a little skatterbrained sometimes!
Both of my children attend Johnson and the staff has been wonderful. Like any school, there are teachers that make my childrens' hearts sing and others that do not, but they are doing some thing right, because the kids are learning. They have started a Reading First grant and I think the kids have really benefited from this focus. The teachers seem excited about what they are doing.
While the school is average, the office staff has been rude on several occasions. My son really enjoys his first grade teachers, however, and his reading has greatly improved through their instructions.
