These schools are horrible in the sense of bullying. The favortism to certian children is unbelievable. The elementary school really doesnt want to hear about it. The middle school attemps to handle some issues but there are no clear guidelines. Academics seem to be grouped in classes and if your child is tagged a special needs child it never ends with labeling. I can see why so many kids are home schooled.

I have been here 16 years and have put 2 children through this school. Thank goodness there will be no more. The teachers and staff are nice and they try. It's the school board and budget cuts that have made this school rate poorly. Neighboring schools that are financially worse than Pagosa schools rate better in educational standards and you can see that by the ratings on here. The teachers and staff will tell you what you want to hear- and not stand by their word. My son has Dyslexia- he has been tested by professionals but the school swears he's fine and refuses to offer any help to make things better for him. I am glad I am finally able to afford to move my kids to a school district that cares. I rate this a 1 star and that's being generous.

This is a wonderful school -- in academic, citizenship, behavioral, and personal support, I could not ask for more or better for my child. The teachers and principal truly care about each student, and my son's personal and academic growth have been amazing here.

The best school district I know of. They work with your children on one on one basis. They really take the time out to understand your child. If your child is having trouble, they work with your child until they do understand. I wouldn't choose any other school over this one.
