I was very unimpressed with the teacher correspondence at Parent/Teacher Conferences. The academic ratings for this school would support that.

I am so unimpressed with this school! The campus is nice! The office personel leaves less to be desired. The kids get away with offenses thats completely uncalled for. The dress code is not enforced! Kids are usally doing things they have no business doing and it seems to be pushed under the rug. My childs grades went from being A's and B's to D's and lower! I not at all impressed with the teaching staff and often wonder if my child is learning at all. Saturday achool is in place for those students that are falling behind. Its looks like a normal school day theres so many kids having to attend. Its a sad situation! My child has picked up so many bad habits since attending this school. If you're a parent be prepared to go the extra mile in teaching your child.

First the positives: SMS has some good programs. Band, Choir and Sports programs. They do have some good teachers who are involved. If your child is behind they shouldn't have any problems getting the help they need. The negatives: There is no effective gifted program. The discipline in this school is bias, which means it depends on who you are as to what kind of punishment if any will be received for your offenses. If your child is advanced they will be bored or unchallenged in most classes.
