Feeling very grateful we moved to DCSD and Mountain View Elementary! We recently moved to CO from AZ and we are SO pleased with MVE! The energy in this school is full of joy and happiness! The leadership is authentic and passionate and truly care about my child's future. I told Principal Francis I feel like I won the lottery by finding this gem! Our family is blessed and we couldn't be happier about our present and excited about our future! Thank you for working so hard MVE!

I can't begin to give enough praise to this school. We attended a nearby school for kindergarten and were less than satisfied. I had an uneasy feeling every time he was dropped off. I stopped by Mountain View for a tour, in hopes of seeking out other options. Our family has been beyond impressed ever since. We open enrolled and signed our son up the same day. It's a difference of night and day from last year. The positivity exudes from the principal, all staff which the children pick up on. I dropped my son off several days into the school year, and the staff in parent drop off addressed him by name. It's the small touches, and strong efforts of communication which make such impressive relationships. The school is very organized, implement creative learning techniques. Our teacher is dedicated, innovative, has passion for teaching. Last year, we were made to feel that our child was a challenge, hard to deal with. It's amazing what encouragement, and a fostering environment can do. My son finally enjoys school, it isn't a daily battle sending him. Thank you Mountain View for giving us the positive change our family desperately needed!

Mountain View Elementary is an amazing school. The teachers and principal are the best I've ever met. I would recommend this school for children of all abilities. I know that when my kids are at school they are really loved and cared for. I'm so happy to have my kids attend this fantastic, public neighborhood school.

What a nice change to visit a school that has a friendly staff and an outstanding principal! My child has not started school at MVE yet but will be in the Fall. Drew Francis is a great person who genuinely cares about all of the students at his school. As I'm finding this is a real rarity in Parker. The day we toured the school the kids literally formed a line to hug Mr. Francis. That speaks volumes to me! MVE has a brand new computer lab, a castle themed library, which my child loved during the tour. It's nice to have such a fantastic neighborhood school. Thank you Mountain View.

Mountain View is a wonderful school, with an amazing principal and wonderful, dedicated teachers. The school is warm and welcoming, the parents are involved and supportive. It truly is a school that I love sending my kids to everyday. They are encouraged, challenged, and given amazing tools to succeed. I honestly don't have enough positive adjectives to describe how pleased I am, and my only negative thing is that we only have 2 years left there before my youngest child will move on.

The principal and teachers are amazing, dedicated professionals at this school. Communication is impressive, involved, personal and encouraged. Funding from the gov, and policies implemented by a current BOE that go against the majority interests of teachers and parents here challenge this entire county at the moment. These are common issues for the most part and the community is working to improve the current BOE for Douglas County. At this school, and the schools that it feeds, the fundraising by the PTO, the dedication of the staff and the extraordinary involvement of the parent community keep this school community tight knit and successful. It is a community wonderful here, and the schools are great! The kids excel and feel safe and challenged. The specials and extracurricular activities are awesome, and the technology availability is amazing!

BASE (Before and After School Care) is wonderful! Preschool and Kindergarten staff are amazing! Lunch ladies are very friendly! Special Ed team is pathetic! Adequate school for normal kids. Horrible school for above-average or below average students. Principal gives a good 'song and dance', but that's it.

I open enrolled my 2 girls to Mountain View Elementary for the last 2 years and that was the best decision I could have made! Mr. Francis and his staff are really incredible. There is an energy in the school that is amazing! ALL of the staff are friendly and really show how much they love the students and their jobs. Our family went through some pretty major changes in the last year. And, because of the consistent love and support to my children from the staff, the transition for the girls was less stressful. I highly recommend parents to enroll their child(ren) to this exceptional school. Mr. Francis and his staff provide a safe, challenging, loving and motivating environment for which parents would be extremely pleased.

As a family just moving from overseas to the U.S., we were not sure how our kids would adjust to their new school environment, new classmates or teachers. Our daughters ages 3 and 7, were immediately welcomed by the kids, the staff and the principle. Mr. Francis s energy level, passion and enthusiasm is amazing. The kindness and respect among the kids and teachers are wonderful. A key point for us when deciding on the school was encouraging the desire to learn. We started at Mt. View Elementary in a summer reading program and my daughter was so encouraged by her teacher Mrs. Rondou, that her desire for reading took off. We were fortunate to have Mrs. Rondou as her 2nd grade teacher as well and now our daughter's reading has improved a great deal. The staff s passion for teaching shows as both my kids have improved bounds in both English, math and reading. Our oldest child enjoys all her subjects, which tells me that all her teachers are well positioned. In addition, we appreciate the values they encourage - teamwork to achieve goals, problem solving, creativity, and personal development. The only complaint my youngest daughter has is that the school days are not longer!

"Words cannot express how Grateful we are to have Mountain View and Mr. Francis as our home school for our 1st Grader! 1st grade. was a critical year for her to figure out how to unleash "the best her" with f, guidance, coaching & refinement. The unconditional acceptance of her big spirited personality & perfectly orchestrated direction of how to appropriately channel it to bring out the best, kindest HER .was MONUMENTAL in her growth this year. She loves school and since walking into Mrs. Kuhn's classroom she has made a conscious decision to want to try hard socially, academically and personally. Thank you Mrs. Kuhn and Mr. Francis for consistently empowering our girl. I am eternally grateful for the support & unwavering commitment to find her the perfect home for 1st grade. Truly, Mountain View has the best teachers and it is so evident that the staff really love what they do."

We have two children at Mountain View and we have been extremely happy with the school and the teachers! Principal Francis is very committed to the kids and we've had a looping teacher with Stacey Wright and she has been fantastic. It's a fun , focused learning environment for the kids. Our kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Hempenstall was also great! We have been very impressed with everything about the school.

As a past principal and educator- my husband and I were very selective about what school to send our son to this year for Kindergarten. We moved from Tampa to Pradera (Parker) a year and a half ago therefore, we had a lot of time before our son began his amazing journey of education! And, we wanted only the BEST! So we went from school to school to see what Parker had to offer. We toured all of the neighborhood schools as well as the elite & most talked about private schools . It was a big job and I had lots of questions for the principals! YES~ we were particular! It was our child s first year of school we wanted the BEST, the most comprehensive, as well as the school that offered a family style environment~ my son would be with this education community many hours of the day and we sought after the most excellent! Well we found all of these things & more in a school called MOUNTAIN VIEW ELEMENTARY! For the next 3 years we are confident our son will excel, feel loved, and grow! We recognize it takes the parents and school to partner together to cultivate a child s love of learning and Mountain View offers just that!

My family moved to Parker last year & open enrolled at children at a school where our friend taught. I then toured our 'home' school, Mt. View & knew from the moment I walked through the doors that THIS school is where our family BELONGED! The office staff welcomed us like family & Mr. Francis was so friendly! When I first met the building engineer, I thought he was an amazing teacher, he interacted so positively with the students!...Only to find out later he was the custodian! Mt. View may not be a brand new building filled with nice furniture, but it IS filled with an amazing group of teachers & support staff who are committed to a standard of excellence that few schools can compete with. I have never regretted our decision to not go to our friend's school. The staff at Mt. View has welcomed us with open arms & provides enriching & positive environment for my children. The families in the Mt. View community are friendly & supportive of the school & the students. My children adjusted so well to our 'voluntary' move that I have never doubted that we made the right decision. THANK YOU to Mr. Francis & all the staff at Mt. View for making a difficult decision seem so easy!

We have had the pleasure of sending our 3 children to MVE. The entire staff, under the direction of Mr. Francis has done an amazing job of educating and caring for the kids. The school offers a BASE (before and after school program) that is flexible and the staff there also does a great job of working with the diverse personalities of the kids!

Mountain View Elementary is a wonderful school. The principal, Mr. Drew Francis is an out of the box thinker. He is innovative and very involved on all levels. In spite of the decreased budgets and overall challenges in our public schools today, he is turning this school into a role model for today's mainstream school system. He listens and acts swiftly to improve on all levels. We need more principals like this in our community schools!!

This is my second year at Moutain View. My son attended second grade last year and this year my daughter is in Kindergarten. We have had a great experience at Mountain View. Both the Kindergarten teacher, and our second grade teacher were amazing. My children are challenged and are learning through hands on activities. The new principle encourages parent envolvement and is very approachable.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
