This elementary school has one of the best music programs offered in the public school system that I and my music educator family members have ever had the opportunity to be a part of. As with all schools, there are some really great teachers and there are some not so motivated teachers.
This is a small town full of cliques. If your child is not an athlete his or her needs will be overlooked. My child is gifted and I have had to fight tooth and nail to have this recognized and addressed. My child continues to be bored with the curriculum. We are looking for alternate options but there aren't many out here.
Great hands on school. teachers are well prepared
For the most part the elementary school is good and offers a wide range of opportunities for each student. There have been some blatant displays of favortism by teachers for their students...especially toward the athletes or other teachers' children. I think this happens everywhere and kids just need to learn to work around it. The classes are NOT smaller than city or suburban schools. The average class still has 20-25 + kids. In the 07-08 school year there were four 4th grade classes. My child has been in the school 5 years now and we have seen such rapid and huge growth and it's only going to continue. It's no longer a small town and the school is proof of that.
I love how the teacher really care what is going on with out children! Thank you Amanda Deegan!
I am satisfied that my child has the oppurtunity to go to a small school rather than a large populated school. I feel that small classes are a wise decision especially for that one on one learning with the teacher. We are still having to do a little work at home with our child so that he/she can go on to the next grade.
