It's a shame Michelle Thompson and Eyan Shields don't work at this school anymore. The new principal seems lacks experience and is more worried about her staff rather than the students. Our child was sexually assaulted and harassed by another student and the student in question was let go on a warning with no suspension due to 'lack of evidence' even with more than enough. Our child reported the incident to teachers on the playground and was blown off and con descended. The principal insulted us by suggesting we have our student change class rooms and after I had sent emails to the staff our child had reported the incident to as to why they ignored his report, I was ignored and advised not to email staff members to question their authority by the principal. Something this serious I'd think would have been handled with more care. We are truly disappointed and will be taking our child out of this school and looking into other options. This incident has effected our child a great deal and Stellar staff chose to sweep it under the rug and try their hardest to hide what happened vs. do what was right. A very sad situation to happen to any family or child.

Working with this dedicated, child-focused, invested and caring staff makes it a joy to come to work every day. Students are happy here! Smiles fill the hallway! Scores are soaring! This behavior has become contagious and I look forward to supporting more of it, year-after-year as a proud member of Stellar's faculty!

As a very involved grandparent, I have seen many positive changes at Stellar Elementary School in the last two years. Principal Thompson is very involved with the students and is arranging for more programs in the school to help the students. These programs help with raising reading levels, Math and computer skills and helping students reach their full potential. There are gifted and talented programs as well. I love the staff at Stellar. They are very friendly from the time you walk in the door, through the classrooms, the Principal's office and the lunchroom. Stellar is a school you should check out in your neighborhood!

Stellar Elementary works hard to find out where every student is academically and what we need to do to support growing their learning through SMART goals. We have engaged parents and volunteers to come in and help us build a positive, loving learning community that supports students in a variety of learning settings. I am very excited to be a part of this team and know that Stellar is moving positively forward to meet the needs of all learners from special needs to gifted through differentiated instruction and a warm open welcoming environment.

I have kids ranging in ages 18-6. Stellar I'd not my home school but I transferred my daughter in because it offered half day kinder and my home school only offered full day. She is now in 1st grade at stellar,I fell in love with the school and could not leave. Every staff member that I've encountered is excellent. I feel so good about my daughter being there. I know she is safe and well taken care of. Everyday when I pick up my daughter and I ask her how her day was, she says; AWSOME! That makes me feel good and I have the staff at Stellar Elementary to thank!

The new principal is a very poor problem solver. My child had some issues and since the beginning of the school we still do not have them resolved.

If you have a child with learning problems, this school is not for you. My son struggled all year and now at the end of the year, we still do not know what their plan is to get him to read or do better in school.

This is our second year at Stellar and we love it. I have a third grader that is working really hard and all his teachers are so willing to help him. I also have a Kindergartner that is just doing amazing. Her kindergarden teacher is just amazing! The new principal is wonderful and really is a joy to talk to. Next year I will try to be more involved in PTO and volunteer more in their classes!

I agree with the fact that this school has changed. The lower grades are wonderful and the teachers are supportive, but the upper grades are horrible. There is a spirit of meanness that starts in the 3rd grade with a particular teacher and the spirit continues to the 5th grade. The students are being punished because they can't meet academic standards instead of the teachers helping them to succeed. The principal needs to take a leadership role to address her staff and find solutions to the problems. Because there are problems at this school.

We have had 3 kids in this school and until this year we couldn't have been happier. There is a spirit of meanness here that is very disturbing. Our son is in the 5th grade and his teacher is just plain mean and angry. I understand that she is young and inexperienced, but it seems like some leadership is needed. All in all, if this is the future of our school, we are very happy that this is our last year here.

This new principal is absolutely amazing! Seems like a lot of positive changes this year. My son's teacher is an awesome communicator and you can clearly see she genuinely cares and is passionate about her career choice. Brain breaks, lots of after school activities and clubs. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is due to the front staff. There needs to be an attitude adjustment with a certain person but she seems to be coming around with this new principall here. we love it here!

This is my daughter's first year at Stellar! I had her Choiced in to the school and I am so happy I did! There has been a few incidents this far, but the new principal seems to be on the ball and quick to respond to any concerns. I love how they put my child's safety first. It really makes it easier to be away from my baby. She is a very gifted girl and I worried she was not being challenged enough, but she seems to be feeling more challenged which I enjoy. Beautiful school with exceptional teachers and the new principal is lovely!

If your child as ADHD this is NOT the school you want to send your child to. They had little to no patience for my son who was struggling immensely throughout the school year. He was eventually put on medication and immediately started having MANY great days. However if he had a day where he was struggling to focus they would call me and send him home. They didn't want to bother with him it seemed. He was also not allowed to go on the class field trip the last week of school because he "might" be difficult. My son is NOT a bad kid and this broke my heart. This was the principle's last year at the school and she brushed the issue aside as it was no longer her problem but someone else s. His teacher was constantly negative with regards to his improvements and only focused on the negative. A complaint was made and I am still waiting for a return phone call weeks later. I think they know they are wrong and won't admit to it. My son deserves better as do all children with a disability that are treated this way.

This is my daughter's first year at Stellar, and so far I feel that the school staff and teachers have done everything necessary to prepare her for first grade. Her teacher and all other staff that are involved with her, have constantly kept me updated with new techniques and her progress. I feel that this school is a good choice for us. They have exceeded my expectations, I hope that it continues to be this way.

my oldest is in 1st grade she had the greatest kindergarden teacher a child could as for and i am very thankfull my kindergardener this year had gotten the same teacher. As for our first grade teacher this year i am very disappointed. my child will constantly tell me she got yelledat. once for blowing her nose to much!!! it depends on the teacher you get. the school its self is very involved with the parents and do a lot of fundraisers and dont seem to challenge or involve the kinders-second grade.I will be looking for a new school next year

I have found that most of the staff at this school is very supportive of their studetns, however many are trying to hard to impress the administration and have forgotten what teaching truly is. I feel that this school has taken my childs confident level backwards and do not highlight the positive aspects of anything she does. It seems no matter what there is always negative things found. Wish I could say it is wonderful, but I have been to many schools in this district and observed many and seem to find this one focussing to much on How They Look On Tests rather than what is best for their students.

The facility opened in 2007 and is beautiful. Everyone on the staff is wonderful and kind. Both the full day and half day kindergarten is great. My daughter has loved all her teachers.
