I have been less than impressed with the lower (K-3) teachers at OHS. There seems to be a popularity contest and teachers and PTA Board Members, and administration. You get nowhere here if you are not in "the group". We we have attended other public schools in Fairfield, and OHS is run by a clique of wannabes. No attention is paid to living by the Golden Rule. They do not practice what they preach. I hardly think a principal reading a story gets a point across to an entire school population. They need to do some follow up.
Osborn Hill School is known and recognized to be THE BEST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in all of Fairfield. I know many families who have gone to great lengths to make sure their home is in the OHS School District, just so their kids can attend this school. OHS is well known for their incredible atmosphere of kindness and community. Having children who attend OHS, I can tell you from experience, both the teachers and staff are outstanding. The curriculum is strong and filled with exciting challenges. The teachers bring such enthusiasm and fun to the material, they make learning easy and enjoyable. The school is also strong in Art and Music. For added value, there are a wide range of after-school activities. It has been such a positive experience. My child had the same thing to say EVERY DAY after school, "School was GREAT today." My kids love OHS school and their teachers so much they never want the school year to end. Summer is no match for their fun at school! Thank you to all those teachers, staff, and volunteer parents who make OHS the BEST school in Fairfield. We appreciate you!
I have worked AT MANY elementary schools in Fairfield and I love working at OHS! The staff and families are so dedicated to making this school the family it says it is. I rant and rave about the parent, students and staff!
