It's a GREAT local school
this school has been perfect for our shy child to emerge and grow. all of the staff and faculty provide a warm, and open atmosphere. Parental involvement is encouraged, especially in kindergarten. The quality of both academic, and music, and art curricula is wonderful. Provisions are in place for children with special needs. the teachers are very aware of bringing developmentally appropriate practices into the classroom.
We have three children in the James Morris School. We have found this school to be very cooperative in the needs of our children, especially our gifted child. All teachers at this school are dedicated to their students and open to discussing the needs of your child to determine the best approach. The principal knows all the children by name, and is in the hallway each morning as they arrive greeting them. The school is always clean and orderly. The children are polite and look out for each other. Bullying is not acceptable.
Great learning environment, very accessible teaching and administrative staff. Small class size, 12-15 students, affords children excellent opportunity to learn and grow. Teachers meet the needs of the students various learning styles and interests. Grades are K-6th, would love if the school went to 8th grade. The principal greets the children in the a.m.,is a visible prescence for the students throughout the day, and monitors the hallway and bus departure in the afternoon.
James Morris Elementary School has a very unique sense of style and also, the teachers are the most kind as they can get. It is a public school, and art, music and gym are the other activities besides of course math, science, reading, writing, and social studies. This school is small, with fifteen (15) students in each class, so the learning capacity for the average child/student is very high here, with a lot of more opportunities to be able to have one on one time with the teacher. There are parent teacher conferences at the beginning and end of the year. Even though this school is small, it is the greatest!
