I am the parent of a KG'ner at Hart Magnet School. We love the friendly and personal feel. The management and teachers are great and very approachable. The emphasis on Science and Maths is very visible in their curriculum and teaching approach. The mini - courses and advanced batch for performing students are very helpful.
I am the parent of a first grader at Hart Magnet School. We love the family atmosphere and small class size. In addition to the traditional elementary curriculum, we appreciate that our son participates in additional technology, science, and enrichment classes, as well as 'Mini-courses' of his choice.
This is a wonderful school with an amazingly dedicated, capable and caring teaching staff who continue to inspire my children on a daily basis. With a 3 child run (2001 to 2015), I continue to feel so grateful for the challenging science/technology curriculum. The new administration is fantastic.
I am the parent of a kindergarten aged child at Hart Magnet School. My daughter has thrived here. The teachers and administration are outstanding and they create a small, loving atmosphere for every child in the school. The science and technology program is incredibly valuable and exceptionally well run. I would recommend this school to any parent, without hesitation.
My child is in the 1st grade at Hart school and loves it. The science and technology programs are enriching and enthusiastically engage the children on these topics. I'm amazed by some of the things the children have learned at this young age. Not only are they learning to read and write but they are challenged into learning about the amazing world of science. The teachers, parents and new administration are wonderful. With the new administration I have already seen some encouraging changes and I foresee a bright future for the students and teachers at Hart School.
Our 1st grade son is thriving at Hart Magnet school. What initially attracted us to the school was the technology and science program and we are not disappointed with our lottery choice. Our son was excited to learn he had more computer time and he is more willing to learn using this method. The science enrichment program has exposed him wonderful new things through artwork, song and a little dancing. He consistently applies what he learned in school to everyday life. Additionally, the small class sizes afford children great attention they would not receive elsewhere. We look forward to collaborating with the new administration on successful education tactics and growing our Hart family in the future.
I am very impressed with Hart school. Hart is one of the Stamford Magnet schools and is the only elementary school with a Science and Technology focused curriculum. The school receives extra resources for the Science and Technology focus and it benefits the children tremendously. Science and Techonology are interwoven throughout our child's entire learning experience, from the science lab to the music room to the art studio. It is quite impressive. The K-2 Science enrichment program goes beyond amazing. As a parent, I could not believe what my 1st grader learned and retained. Hart Magnet is one of the best kept secrets in Stamford.
I've been a Hart School parent since 1998 and have been impressed by the wonderful, warm, professional teachers - they have prepared my children well for middle and high school! Hart has had to overcome a weak administration under a principal who was not dedicated to the science & technology magnet program but there is great hope that our new principal will give Hart the guidance and support it deserves. Hart has also been treated as the poor relation in Stamford's elementary magnet system despite the fact that its science and technology focus is very crucial in today's world. This too is changing with downtowns realization that Hart has done wonderful things with the little support it has received in the past. Right now Hart is poised to shine! If your child could benefit from a hands on learning with a focus on science and technology then look no further.
My child is in her second year at Hart Magnet. When she started at Hart my husband & I thought we would probably move from Stamford because the school at that time did not have a great reputation. What a difference a year, and a new principal, make. The staff are warm and welcoming, and seem as if they want to be there, teaching our children. The sense of being part of a community may come from the small class size at Hart, & that there are only four classes per grade, I've gotten to know teachers in all the grades, not just the grades my daughter has been in. Once a week my husband says 'She's learning so much more about (math, science, reading, you name it) than I did at that age.' We are not planning on moving now & look forward to sending our younger kids there too.
I chose Hart Magnet School because of it's wonderful science and technology program. When you walk in the doors of Hart it feels like your 'home'. I have been a Hart parent for 3 years and am extremely happy. It has been the best decision I have made for my daughter. The new administration supports the teachers and are available to the parents.
