My son is in the seventh grade at SMS. He loves the school and has been involved in Honors classes, track, soccer, and was recently inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. In the fall, he wants to try cross country. My husband and I have been very pleased with the school, the teachers, and the administrators. My daughter will be here next year, and is extremely excited to be a middle-schooler...she also can't wait to be in the drama club!

We just moved to Seaford from Maryland and I think that they school is wonderful. We are pleased with the teachers and the staff. They are concerned about every student and will not tolerate disruptions. Our only concern is that the classes are full and it's hard to focus sometimes.

You would be amazed to see the improvment our middle school has made over the last two years. The administration is doing a fantastic job at rallying the staff to turn things around and bring pride back to the Seaford Middle School.

The class rooms are too noisie & all kids are misbehaving - its hard for a child to learn and get good grades in the class that is too loud.

This is a wonderful school! Although like many middle schools it has it's problems but it provides a caring environment. The technology available is amazing!

About the tests

In 2008-2009 Delaware used the Delaware Student Testing Program (DSTP) to test students in reading and math in grades 2 through 10, in writing in grades 3 through 10, and in science and social studies in grades 4, 6, 8 and 11. The scores for social studies in grades 4 and 6 are not shown on GreatSchools profiles. The DSTP is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Delaware. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
