My child attended an immersion school before moving to Delaware. I thought this was going to be a great experience for him, but the principal does not have any cultural awareness in how to run this program. She does not even speak a second language neither invites the parents to participate in the school activities. The teachers are truly experienced professionals but under a bad administration. They are not teaching what the immersion program offered to the parents and community. My child's room has children with bad behavior, and the principal does not do ANY but suspending students. That is why this principal does not know how to work with this community. When parents are not involved in the school, classrooms are chaotic and teachers are blamed for this actions. The other issue is the lack of supervision at lunch time and play time. People are in their offices and not supporting the children! This school is changing for next year they said the governor's world language program is coming to Red Clay, please do not waste the budget hiring teachers from Spain. We need Latin American Spanish and bilingual teachers from our community. Keep the teachers and change the administration.

I think that this is a truly great school. I have been totally satisfied since my son started there for Kindergarten. He is now in the first grade. He enjoys going to Lewis, and I enjoy sending him there. THe teachers and the new acting principal is a great assest to the school. Please keep up the good wor.
