Over all I suppose Altha Public is a good school. Although, I do feel like there needs to be something done about the discrimination problems there. My children go there, and I get comments from one of my children about other students making racist comments toward them. I feel that everyone has a choice on how to raise their children, but you should at least teach them to respect others regardless of what color they just so happen to be. I have seen Altha, Florida change over the years, not as harsh as it used to be. Still, there are some people blinded to the fact that the United States of America is a free country and WE ALL have the right to live here, regardless of our race, disability, and sexual orientation. I have often thought to pull both of my kids out of Altha Public, but then what would that teach my children? To run from your problems and you are different than everyone else. No, my children and everyone else's children have the right to go to any school they should want without being bullied on a daily basis. I believe that it is the responsibility of the staff and parents to come together to teach our children that we all bleed red.

I am very happy with both the academic and social aspect of the school. They are teaching morals as well as writing and basic knowledge. My son is in Pre-K. In his first month there, he can already write his first name. He is very excited about it.
