I Attend this school . & its a wonderful school , but i feel like I'm treated different because I'm an African American. 60% of my classmates/ schoolmates are nice, 40% Are racist . But overall Its a (Good) school.
I completely agree with the previous comment about this school being just terrible. I honestly felt as if I had written that review. The "anti Bullying Policy" truely is a joke at this school. I understand no matter what middle school you're in there will be bullies but this school does nothing to make your child feel safe. My child was continusaly picked on last year by the same kid he was clever though didn't do it around teachers or anyone else was paying attention. Mine and my childs complaints, and bullying report to the school staff went close to ignored they actually sent me a letter in the mail saying they couldn't find sufficient enough evidence to confirm our bullying complaints and closed the investigation. Eventually that trouble maker went on to bother someone else unfortunatley for that poor unsuspecting child. Then another bully started in on my child and finally my kid had had enough this bully was following my child around and pulling on his clothes and book bag and my son turned around and hit back... My child got suspended over it! For finally sticking up for himself? This school needs some reconstructing starting with the school administration.

This school is just terrible. It is crowded to the point of breaking. I can't speak of all the teachers that "teach" there, but as for the ones my child and his classmates have had, they don't care. One gets the feeling they don't want to be there. The administration is just as lacking as the teachers are- if not more. Your concerns and issues fall on deaf ears. Their anti-bullying policy that is a joke. The children that are bullied have no real recourse and seemed to incur types of bullying from the security guards and administrators themselves. Parents of the bullied child are made to feel as they are just complaining and that they are also at fault. LCMS will not let parents of the bullied child view the tapes that the school administration use for coming to a verdict or conclusion regarding fault. They also don't want to hear any issues that may reflect poorly upon them and show signs of retaliation toward the child when then are criticized. LCMS is a bad school. I feel awful knowing my child and good kids like her are subject to such a negative experience within their formative years.

worst school in Broward County. Some teachers are very rude to students, Teachers do not contact parents before giving severe punishment to students. I sometimes feel like tmy daughter is treated differntly because she is African American. Just a very difficult adminstration to deal with

I am a volunterer at this school, I also have two kids who have completed this school with great and excellent grades and another begins in the fall 2012. I have to say after reading some of these reviews that I don't see what some others apparently see. I think this school is great, the teachers that my kids have had have been very hands on in communicating any issues to me. My kids were elgible to attend local magnet schools but we chose to keep them at LCMS. It does take a "village" but that begins at home! If you are not happy, get involved, see what you can do to make a difference!

I dont know what has happened to LCMS but is definitly turned into a mediocre school. Our oldest daughter went here and we loved the school then, but in the last 2 years it has become a joke. No HW given and poor communication between teachers and parents. The school is over crowded and I 100% agree with the review below, uear came and went an my 6th grader who is in AP and GEM has grown little in education. Very dissapointed. We were sad to see the old principal go.

Kids have 14 days extra off , no homework during the week or weekend, my concern has been my 8th grader son which is in PA classes . Never HW and has only done 2 poster projects through out the year, I strongly saw a year just go by and no growth.

To be fair to LCMS I must state that I have not met all the teachers and am solely basing this review on my own and friends/parents of children going to LCMS.

I just finished 8th grade and overall I liked the school. There are many clubs and sports to join. The teachers are very nice and they care. I would suggest trying to get into advanced classes in this school, because the people are so much nicer and focused on school work. I compared my advanced classes to my regular ones, and I loved the advanced classes. The regular ones are filled with bullies and just stuck up kids.
What about bullys in this school? Does anybody know of any incident? I plan to enroll my grandaugters for next year. Thanks!
i myself love this school, the first day at this school i felt safe and secure. The teachers are very nice and you can learn really easy. Kids are very unite and respectful. I highly recommend this school and i guaranty that your kid is going to have fun and learn. In addition the school is really clean and beautiful.

My daughters first year at the school, so far I see compassion from the teachers and the principal is awesome, he took the time to remember my daughters name and follow up with a question I had regarding school work, he got back to me personally. The band instructor is wonderful, only a few weeks in class and already she can play her instrument.

My son has attended Lyons Creek for 3 years and any parent who rates this school a 5 must have a smart kid. Now for the parents who have kids who tend to struggle you are in for a nightmare at this school. It doesn't matter if you attempt to stay on top of things the teachers DO NOT GIVE A CRAP especially once they make up their minds that your kid seems lazy or not interested. Don't let the A rating fool you. It means absolutely NOTHING.The teaching faculty is a joke, they are there to collect a paycheck and take weeks to update grades. By the time they do your kid has failed. And they always blame your child rather than themselves for failing a student when they make no attempt to contact parents about what is happening in their class.
