Ignore any prior reviews about our "moldy campus" - we just got a brand-new building and an open courtyard and all of it looks so beautiful and clean. The teachers are AMAZING, especially in the AP classes. I literally can't pick one favorite teacher because they're all that great. They're interesting and teach you how to think critically, and provide guidance as needed - even staying before/after school to provide extra help. I love my teachers and they love me! We also have so many stellar extracurricular programs, with some standouts being DECA (business program), ROTC (pre-navy program), speech and debate, drama, CTV (broadcast journalism), and early child care. Many of our students have gone on to top colleges, ranging from in-state at the University of Florida and University of Miami, to Ivys such as Harvard, Cornell, and the University of Pennsylvania, and other top schools including Duke and MIT. But there's really something here for every student, and this is a place where everyone can feel like they're part of a large, extended Cowboy family - you just have to find what you love, stick with it - and find ways to make it even better!

I would give this school zero stars but there is one teacher there that cares about my child and does her job! so that star goes to her. where do i start this place is a a discusting mess!!!! its mold ridden, my two daughters have come home sick already and school just started!!!! they have a serious problem and it makes me sick! ok im not a native floridian and i get the humidity and the dampness but that is unacceptable, i have visited other schools in the area and they are not like that. this school is way over crowded and the staff is just plain rude!!!!! They will argue with you and make your child feel stupid. Its way over rated here and we will be moving as soon as possible. We moved to this area because of the schools and i just dont see it. again this place is a mess!!!!! and please use caution if your child will be attending this school its a MAJOR HEALTH RISK!!!

Honestly a great school, a lot of extracurricular activities, really good teachers, for honors and AP, Great DECA, SGA and CTV programs, really good in waterpolo, swimming, girls soccer, boys volleyball, band, and recently Football. I came to Cooper City as a junior, from an entire different country and I never had troubles fitting in. The comments below say its over crowded, but to be honest is one of the Broward schools with the least students (but you do see a lot of people in your classes, specially electives). I would just advice the principal to be a little more of a leader

If I could I would take my son out of this school asap, he hates , my husband and I hate it. First the teachers are rude as well as the guidance counselors and vice principals, they assume that there way is the only way and dont let the parents have any input, they can also never get all the teachers together for one conference because now they will tell you the teachers are under contract and they only have to be in school from 7:30 -2:30 and they wont give up there lunch hour. I have never been to such a uncaring school, they all seem like they are there to get a pay check and they don't care about the kids anymore, it is very sad. The school is highly over rated and it is run down, they are currently trying to clean up the mold situation in the classrooms while the kids are in there, but they aren't worried about there health at all. I must say cooper city and its school systems are run down and not what they used to be the neighborhood has multiple houses in foreclosure and the school is VERY OVERCROWDED. Want proof? go ask the kids when they get out of school they are the ones who go there and they will honestly tell you what goes on there.

CCHS is an amazing school, the teachers are amazing, most of the students are really friendly and there is little to no bullying. The campus is beautiful (especially the new cafeteria!), and there's tons of fun and educational extracurriculars to be a part of such as Marching Band, SGA (student government), DECA (business), FMPA (medical club), Debate, Journalism (and also CTV, the school news program and The Lariat, our newspaper), Fashion, "The Littlest Cowboys" (early childhood care), a variety of sports, and much more. I feel right at home here :)

I can't imagine a better high school - our marching band was top notch, and there were other great performing art programs. The teachers care, and the school is SAFE, something that's rare nowadays.

Like most schools Cooper City is overcrowded. It is more run down than it should be for its age. Teachers and staff seem to be ruder than others I have dealt with. I am not sure if its b/c they hate the conditions they have to teach in. School is not welcoming to those of different backgounds. Not racist as much as an indifferent towards others. I imagine years ago this school was probably one of the best around.

We moved from Arizona to Florida n 2004. We chose Cooper City School system becuase our research pointed us there. At the time it was one of the best public schools within a reasonable driving distance of my work. So the internet said. Long distance research does not give you a feel for what the area is like it can only give stats. This is unfortunate. Cooper City has to be one the most closed, cliqeuish communities we have ever lived. We never really felt out home in the community and my oldest child had a difficult time adjusting to the callousness of teachers and the indifference of the student body at CCHS. I think had we lived here our whole lives it would have been different but 'outsiders' are not welcome.

Cooper City High school is an excellent high school. Sure, there are a few not-so-great teachers, but for the most part, the teachers are great and truly care for their students. The recent new building addition makes learning easier through the use of technology. I am a Senior and will be graduating in May from the only high school that I would ever have wanted to attend the last four years of my life.

I will not send another child of mine to cooper city high! Once my oldest is done we will move to Boca or use private schoooling. It is disgraceful that a school expects students to excel in an environment that is dirty and rundown. If the school board and teachers of Cooper cannot make a difference then how do you expect the students to be inspired to do the same? My child does not use the bathrooms ever and most days cannot get lunch, due to crowd.

The school's curriculum is weak and does not prepare children on how to organize themselves, how to study, how to take proper notes, how to succeed. I agree that parents are part of the problem, but no excuse for what I've observed for the past two years.

I think Cooper City High School used to be a quality school, one you could be proud of. But since Mr. Vanover left and Ms. Doll took over, the school has taken a tremendous downfall. It went from an 'A' to a 'C', and the school is in horrible condition. In some parts of the school, it is so cold that the books get soaking wet from condensation. And in other parts of the school, it's so hot you can barely breathe. Also, the bathrooms are horrendous! I think it's disgusting that administration finds that acceptable for our children. I think they should stop spending money on useless things and start spending it on things such as the bathrooms and making new classrooms..they are wayyy too crowded. I was appauled at open house and I can't understand how our children can learn in that type of environment.

Where do my school tax dollars go? I atteneded open house last night and left appalled and angry. This school is a depressing dump! How they get the kids to perform at 'A' level in that environment is a mystery.

I have been going to this school for three years now, I started my 10th grade year.I am sorry to say this school is horriable, most the staff are disrespectful and never listen what you have to say. I do agree with everyone else, the school does only care about the school rateing. All Im saying is this school is not nearly the school you hear about, things need to change starting with Ms.Dolls attitude.

We moved to Cooper City for the schools, only to be very disappointed. The staff could care less, it's the School Grade that matters. What the students learn comes second. The Math program is very disappointing. Most of the school year, during the FCATs is spent only on obtaining that Excellent School Rating. The staff, the really do not care what the students learn. If a student needs extra care, assistance, guidance it is not encouraged. Cooper City High cares about it rating, not educating the students.

Cooper City High Schools is not the school it was 4 years ago. Perhaps new leadership needs to be introduced to bring this school back to the standards it was once known for.

Cooper City is a good, not great, high school. There are plenty of opportunities for motivated students, exceptional teachers, and a strong base of parent support. My biggest disappointment has been in the lack of rigor associated with the academic elements. Message to administration: It's okay to make kids work hard and it's okay if they don't like it. 'Good enough' isn't the same as excellent.

CCHS used to be the school to go to. It maintained high standards and the kids actually learned. Since Ms. Doll has come in and micromanaged, the school has gone from an A to a C. Drugs are rampid and the quality of learning is next to none. Students have no study skills, the teachers do not challenge, and basically are there for their tenure. I moved to Cooper city for the high school and have been sadly let down in a very big way.

I went here when I was a teenager and I liked it. It hasn't been long since high school and I was very involved. It's a great school. The teachers were very considerate and taught me things that got me through college. I reccomend this school greatly.

This school is what you make of it: if your child is school-oriented, then they will do fine and possibly excell. If your child, like one of mine, is someone who is an average student, then they could easily fall through the cracks if they should encounter a subject that is difficult for them.

My son graduated from cchs in 2004 after attending for three years. There are some really excellent teachers at this school. My son especially enjoyed the auto mechanics program, (which has won awards at a national competition) unfortunately, this is a popular program which is hard to get into. In fact, it seemed that it was always a struggle to get the classes he really wanted. The school is overcrowded, and the lockers in the hallways were reportedly removed for this reason. There are several portable classrooms. I sat in my son's algebra class( portable) during parent night and the ac was so loud, I could hardly hear the teacher. The building is old and needs some renovation. Bathrooms are disgusting! I am surprised to see the school has dipped to a grade of 'c', it was designated a national school of excellence when my son was younger.

My daughter has been in Cooper High for 1 year now, we are from Europe and I am amazed about the poor level and the numbers of classes only 4 per semester, including 1 class theme ' How to make it thru high school' !!! What do you learn and how deep do you go with 4 months classes! We just had the School Recital on March 7, 2004, $17.00 per parent! Complete inorganization, NO sound and not even batteries in the only 1 microphone, NO lighting and neons light in back stage, NO dynamics and NO teaching of confidence how to be on stage NO motivation from teachers Awful outfits extremely poor level and so boring The worst food ever! I am 36, I went in Europe in 9 Middle and High school at the University in Paris and in the USA at FIU, this recital was the very worst ever and the most expensive....

I just graduated from this school, and honestly, I loved it. Yes, there are good and bad teachers, as there are anywhere else, and the administration is really strict, but one bad experience doesn't make it a bad school. If you are looking into moving into Southwest Broward, CCHS is your best choice of high schools. Take it from someone who knows firsthand. They are strict, tough, and at times, trying. But it has made me a better person for it.

It has been fortunate our son went through the Cooper city school system from elementary at Griffen, Pioneer, thru H.S. His courses and teachers for the most part were beyond the limits of 'A' school interpretation and have given hima great base for college for which he has been accepted to two colleges already.

I have a junior at this high school and I am extremely pleased with his progress. The school offers a great array of courses that many other schools do not. The staff is hardworking and expects the same from the students. I am glad that my 8th grader will have the same opportunities as my junior next year. We moved to Cooper City over 12 years ago expressly because of the schools, in particular the high school, it is a decision we have not regretted.

My student recently graduated from this school. The administration is the worst group of people to ever have to deal with. Some of the hardest working students on campus, the band, never got the recognition and respect they deserved from the administration, the principal, the other students and the school board. If Cooper City High is an 'A' school, I do not know how, and I would hate to see how a 'C' school runs. The people who run the school need work, the teachers do not.
